A Las Vegas woman used dating apps to attract, calm and steal from older men in a “romantic fraud on steroids” that is allegedly resulted in at least three deaths, according to the authorities.
Aurora Phelps is in custody in Mexico and has been accused in a 21-count replacement charges of the fatal fraud, said US lawyer for the Nevada district of a press release On Friday 21 February.
Phelp’s accusations include several bills of wire fraud, post -fraud, bank fraud and identity theft, as well as a count of kidnappings and a count of kidnappings resulting in death, said Sue Fahami, acting US lawyer for the district, said at a press conference the same day, Per Associated Press.

It was not immediately clear if Phelps, 43, has a lawyer for the case.
Phelp’s prosecution follows a two -year investigation into her alleged crime, which extends from July 2021 to December 2022 by the FBI Las Vegas Division. On February 21, the News Conference said Spencer Evans, the special agent responsible for the division, “This is a romantic fraud on steroids.”

Three of Phelp’s victim died as a result of her system, says officials. A man, who was a wheelchair user, was strongly soothing and took over the US and Mexico border and was later found dead at a hotel in Mexico City, Per NBC News and AP.
Another was found dead on the bathroom floor in his Guadalajara home, AP reported. The police discovered him after his daughter could not contact him after a date with Phelps, which later used one of his accounts to buy a gold coin, among other items, according to the outlet.
The fourth victim included in Phelp’s prosecution ended up in a coma as a result of her soothing, but later woke up, according to NBC News and AP.

The Phelps system, said Evans, is valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars, a sum that she was then alleged to buy luxury and other articles, per NBC News and AP. She also sold about $ 3.3 million by one of her victims, but could not withdraw the money, the AP reported.
The total value of Phelp’s schedule may be more, and the FBI published a bulletin urges additional victims to arrive.
If convicted of all 21 bills, Phelps is facing life in prison.
