Created by Eric Ledgin and Justin Spitzer – the same duo who worked at NBC’s Superstore and American car – Sitcom’s mockery is located in a under -staffed, underfunded hospital in a small town in Oregon. St. Denis Medical – Who broadcast its season 1 final on April 29 – humorously depicts the daily challenges that overworked doctors and nurses at the emergency room when striving to take care of patients.
“I’ve had many experiences in you … All these situations had fun aspects for them,” Ledgin told Deadline In March 2025. “I wanted to (create) something that tried to capture what it actually is – part of the dark humor, part of the odd ball humor, just the stupid and the real, humanizing things that happen.”
In January 2025 the network was renewed St. Denis Medical For a second season. Ledgin said it was a “relief” as the series, like stars Wendi McLendon-Covey And Allison Tolman, reasoned with the viewers.
“We have to laugh together,” he told Deadline. “We need (TV programs) that just try to entertain and make you forget everything for a few minutes.”

Sitcom has proven to be a hit with both audience and critics. After becoming NBC’s best new show in the 18-49 demographic, St. Denis Medical earned one Critics Choice Award Nomination for the best comedy series.
Meanwhile, actors David Alan Grier – Who plays a broken veteran doctor – got a critic choice nodding for best actors in a comedy series and a NAACP Image Award nomination.

Plot information for season 2 of St. Denis Medical have not been released. Eric Ledgin, however, teased his plans for the series while talking to Deadline In March 2025.
“I want to continue on the same course we were on in season 1 (with) moments where we run the characters’ relationships anymore. (I also want) each episode should be a story for himself,” he said, “we may come out of the hospital a little more (in season 2).”
In addition, fans can expect “more romance” in future sections, Ledgin said LRM Online In April 2025.

It is uncertain which role members will return for St. Denis Medical Season 2. Season 1 participated in McLendon-Covey, GRIER, Tolman, Josh Lawson, Kahyun Kim, Mekki Leeper and Kaliko Kauahi.
Although their casting has not been confirmed, several of the show’s most important players have spoken publicly about St. Denis Medicalrenewal.
“It’s so wonderful,” said Kauahi, who plays the nursing ministry choice Popculture.com In March 2025. “You just never know what will happen, but from the beginning you felt so much support from the studio and the network, but also from the fans.”
