In an exclusive interview with People, the 43-year-old actress, who depicts Olympia Lawrence in the series, needed that she felt that her character’s “monochromatic” wardrobe needed a little extra, which turned out to be a telfar bag. While her character is a successful, high -powered lawyer, Marshall explains that she wanted Olympia’s wardrobe to have relatability by mixing more affordable pieces.

The introduction of the Telfar bags happened after “a very short conversation with the costume head”, Marshall recalls. “I wanted to attach something to Olympia’s wardrobe that would blink on my culture,” she says.

They quickly landed on Telfar, founded by a black designer, Telfar Clemens. Marshall also notes that the brand on the bag has been returned by megastar.

“I remember years ago when Beyoncé Wear a telfar bag, it just shook my community, and they were constantly sold for several years, “she recalls.

“They could make over 12 different colors on Telfar bags,” Marshall tells People about the costume department. “And then you can catch them in each episode, but I wanted a bag that represented my culture, but was also affordable.”

When it comes to the rest of Olympia’s wardrobe – and the stylish interior decoration found in some of the show’s sets, including pink table lamps in the courtroom – jokes that she wants everything for her real life.
