Why Dolly Parton and the late husband Carl Dean never had children



Dolly Parton and her deceased husband Carl Dean Had a simple reason not to bring children to their almost 60-year marriage.

“9 to 5” singer, 79, told earlier Oprah Winfrey to Not having children allowed her to work harder throughout her career.

“Since I had no children, and my husband was pretty independent, I had freedom,” said Parton in a section from November 2020 by Apple TV+’s Oprah conversation. “So I think a large part of all my success is the fact that I was free to work.”

Dean and the country icon met long before the fame.

Parton was only 18 years old when their roads crossed outside a Nashville washing master after she moved to the southern city to chase her dreams as an artist.

The couple married two years later 1966But Dean stopped outside the limelight when the “Jolene” singer rose to the star.

“I didn’t have children because I thought God didn’t mean to have children so that all children could be mine, so I could do things like imagination library because if I hadn’t had the freedom to work, I would not have done all the things I have done,” she explained. “I couldn’t do all the things I do now.”

And when Parton was not busy, she made sure to spend special moments with Dean.

“Carl Dean, husband of Dolly Parton, died March 3 in Nashville at the age of 82.

“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t make the right to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy,” Poston’s post continued. “The family asks for integrity during this difficult time.”
