A couple married on Valentine’s Day in a Las Vegas wedding with a Whataburger turn.
Whataburger Superfans Haley McCollough, 25, and Michael White, 30, eat at the fast food restaurant “At least once a week”, so when they each got a message about their Whataburger apps that the chain was Host for a competition At the end of December 2024 for the chance to win a Whataburger wedding on the Las Vegas strip, it was an easy decision to apply.
“It sounded perfect,” McCollough tells People exclusively.

The Texas-based couple created a 30-to-45-second video that shared how whataburger became part of their love story. When they got the conversation they won, White was “so surprised” and his “heart began to beat so fast.” At the same time, McCollough was “happy and excited” and “relieved” wedding planning was over.
“It was literally the perfect occasion and thinking about finding a time to get married started to be stressful,” reminds McCollough. “When we told everyone, they all answered with excitement and a comment in line with,” Yes, it makes sense to you. “People were very happy for us, because it’s really a fantastic opportunity.”

After saying “I do it” they sliced the newlyweds in a custom three-staved, orange-striped whataburger cake. The dinner menu included a bacon steakhouse -double, french fries and red velvet shakes.
“I have never imagined that we would have a Whataburger wedding,” says McCollough, who flew on a plane for the first time to participate in her Nevada knob.
“Never in a million years!” White supplement. “But when I saw it as an opportunity, I didn’t want anything else.”

Whataburger not only has a special place in the couple’s hearts because they grew up eating burgers and french fries, but also because their relationship started over a meal at the restaurant for their first date in October 2019.
“Whataburger was the nearest restaurant where we worked together, so we would often go there to eat. Usually we would go through the drive-thru-he would get his triple and I would get my Monterey melt,” says McCollough. “We would sit in the parking lot and talk for hours.”
“I remember Haley was very nervous on our first date and ate very slowly around me, but she saw how fast I eat pretty quickly!” White tells people.

Four years later in October 2023, the duo was engaged – in the bathroom.
“I had one thing prepared to do at a restaurant and the short version was that there was a sequence of events that just continued to destroy it at every turn,” White explains. “After it didn’t work at the restaurant, Haley made some comments that made me think she knew everything so I decided it was just a way that this would still be a surprise … So I went into her in the toilet (she had just done). ”

The couple-who later shares a 1-year-old son-to their engagement photos on Whataburger, which McCollogg’s phone humorously listed as “home” because of their often visit together.

“I feel that a traditional engagement photo would be a little cheese -like for us,” says McCollough. “We are not the most comfortable in front of a camera, so I always joked,” If we were to do an engagement photo, we would have to do it on Whataburger. ” ”
The first Whatawedding took place in 2019 when six couples got married on Valentine’s Day at Whataburgers all over the country. Last MLB star Bobby Witt Jr. had his own In December 2024. This year’s first Las Vegas edition is based on Whataburgers ‘efforts to be a people-first brand while celebrating one of the most special days in the couples’ lives.
“Whataburger has been a part of so many moments in my life, big and small,” says White. “(It was) the strangest, yet most suitable version of our most special day.”
