Uzo Aduba and Randall Park are tied over this on ‘The Residence’ (exclusively)

In an exclusive conversation with People, Park, 50 and Aduba, 44, it opened about the bands they formed as they worked together on Netflix’s latest murder mystery series, Residence.

Park, who plays as a special FBI agent, Edwin Park, was “nervous” but “excited” to work with Aduba, knowing that she was “one of the great actors of our time.”

“I thought, ‘Oh, I hope she’s not mean because she’s Uzo.’ And immediately I felt that “this is the nicest, kindest, most grounded, just generous, careful, funny person,” he reminded. “I would say I immediately want to, just outside the bat, I just love her.”

Aduba returned the feeling and called her costs “a class act.”

“I knew his work in advance,” she said, referring to Park’s roles in Always be mine may and Fresh of the boat. “I felt the depth of his talent, or I felt the breadth of his work, I would say. And then through this experience I got to experience just how deep and rich his work is.”

“One thing with Uzo that I really linked to is that she is very much in nostalgia. So we talked about many things from back during the day,” Park continued. “Random things like the lighting fixtures at the old pizza boughers. We had a lot like half a day on it.”
