“Of which nation are you citizen,” asked Senator from right Arkansas Tom Cotton, to which Chew replied, “Singapore, Sir.”
“Have you ever applied for Chinese citizenship?” Cotton asked.
Chew denied ever applying for a Chinese passport and confirmed that he is a documented citizen of Singapore and added that he “earned my military for two and a half years.”
It did not prevent Arkansas Republican from continuing to ask, “Have you ever been a member of the Chinese Communist Party?”
“Senator, I’m Singaporean. No,” replied Chew.
Cotton quickly followed up: “Have you ever been associated or connected to the Chinese Communist Party?”
“No, Senator. Again, I’m Singaporean,” repeated Tiktok manager.
Cotton finally defended his baseless hints that Chew is affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party.
“Singapore is unfortunately one of the places in the world that has the highest degree of infiltration and influence from the Chinese Communist Party,” insisted the Senator on Fox News’ with Martha Maccallum on Wednesday and offers no evidence of his claims.
“So, Mr. Chew has a lot to answer, for what his app does in America and why it does.”
