The White House has no plans to return the statue of freedom to France.
“Absolutely not,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt during a TV press brief On Monday 17 March. “My advice to the named French politician at a low level would be to remind them that it is only because of the United States that the French are not speaking German right now.”
Leavitt, 27, responded to a reporter who read a quote from the French member of the European Parliament Raphaël Glucksmann.
On Sunday, March 16, politicians, 45, said that he “does not believe that the United States represents the values for the state of liberty anymore.”

Although Leavitt did not go into more detail on Monday, her comments were apparently a reference to America and France who worked as allies during the Second World War against Nazi Germany.
“They should be grateful,” Leavitt said about France.
During Glucksmann’s SUNDAY, he said: “Give us back the statue of freedom”, Associated Press reported.

The statue was officially revealed on October 28, 1886 in New York, gifted to America as “a symbol of freedom, inspiration and hope”, according to the monument Official website.

It is unlikely that France could execute the request of Glucksmann because the monument is property for the US government, notes Politician.

In addition, the outlet notes that such demand may exert the relationship between president Donald Trump And French president Emmanuel Macron.
Macron, 47, visited Oval Office for a February 24 meeting with Trump, 78, where the two presidents discussed Russia and Ukraine’s three-year war-with the focus on solving which country is responsible for delivering assistance to Ukraine.
“I support the idea of having Ukraine, first to be compensated because it is those who have (lost) many of their citizens, and they are destroyed by these attacks,” Macron said.

The two did not agree with the guilty amounts, with Trump eventually said, “If you think it’s okay with me.”
