Some people may think that pets don’t really “get it”, but when a 6-year-old sang “if you are happy and you know it” to her cat, the animal knew exactly what they would do.
In an adorable Tiktok video that has become viral, the child is caught and sings along with his black cat, Bebe. When the little girl sings, “If you are happy and you know, say Meow,” replies Bebe with a perfectly timed “Meow.”
Kelly, the proud mother behind the viral clampshares the story of this heartwarming interaction.
“It was just spontaneous,” Kelly tells People exclusively. “We were out in the garden, and my daughter loves to sing to her cats. She never expected Bebe to start chimming, but he did – and we just went with it. It was so cute, I couldn’t even take it!”
The Internet quickly fell in love with the duo.
“Many people at Tiktok referred to my daughter as a Disney princess,” Kelly says with a laugh. “It’s completely meaningful because Bebe follows her everywhere. Their dynamics are so fun to watch – he is always right with her, whether she sings or just plays around.”
Bebes trip to viral fame is as moving as his newfound star. Once a Stray was brought in by Kelly’s family through their informal rescue initiatives, Cloudys Cat Cottage.

“We are not an official organization or anything – we are just trying to help fight in our society,” Kelly explains.
Bebe was their latest rescue and quickly made himself at home. “From the first night he stayed with us, he knew exactly where he was supposed to be. He is king of the cottage now,” Kelly continues.
At about 7 months old, Bebe has already become an integral part of the family’s life on their small farm. “He is extremely smart – he knows his name and comes when he is called,” shares Kelly. “He loved crawling into our turns and making biscuits – it’s as if he knows he’s finally safe.”

Bebes Band with Kelly’s daughter is especially special. “She has always had a passion for animals,” Kelly says proudly. “Even as a child, one of her first words” cat. “She converted me – I grew up with dogs and never realized how amazing cats could be until I had one.”

For Kelly, sharing of this video has touched, as many have reasoned with the unconditional love and connection from an animal.
“In a world where there is so much chaos gives animals innocence and unity,” reflects Kelly. “Sharing moments like this reminds us that we all need more love and connection today.”
And as a mother, it is also deeply meaningful to see her daughter shine in such an unexpected way. “I’m always proud of my little girl,” she says warmly. “She inspires me every day to become a better person. Although I am an adult, I am constantly learning from her.”
