Students with special needs on a New York City School bus were forced to duck for coverage because the vehicle was struck by shots.
The bus was near East 163rd Street and Trinity Avenue in the Morrisania area in Bronx when it unexpectedly met around 14:20 local time on Friday, March 21, 21, Fox 5 New YorkThe ABC 7 NY and News 12 reported.
The driver of the bus continued to walk about half a mile in the middle of the firearm to get the children into safety. At least three shots hit the bus, with one that hit the back window and two others hit the vehicle side, according to the outlets.
No one inside the bus was injured in the incident, reported ABC 7 NY.
ABC 7 NY Said there were half a dozen students on the bus, together with the driver and a school bus matron. The latter anchored and covered two of the children as the vehicle rushed away, says the outlet.
“He was afraid of these children,” Jose Polanco, a colleague of the bus driver, told ABC 7 NY.

The police said, according to the outlet, that the bus was caught in the cross -fire as four suspects, all carry black, shot shots against each other. They are believed to have moved on foot after the shot, the authorities added.
The search for the suspects in progress, CBS New York reported.

When the shooting occurred near a playground and a school, students were put at the nearby educational institution in Lockdown for about 30 minutes earlier termination, ABC 7 NY reported.
New York City Public Schools and the New York Police Department (NYPD) did not immediately respond to people’s request for comment on Sunday March 23.
