Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz say it was “really weird” Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton’s outputs were not addressed

Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz Say they wish their cost Chad Michael Murray and Hilalar BurtonIs time on One Tree Hill Could have ended a different way – and they claim that “personal beef” was the cause of their output.

Speaking of how Murray, now 43, and Burton, 42, left CW Teen Drama series after season 6 2009, Drama women Podcast hosts Bush, 42, and Lenz, 43, said they were left confused about why their Costar characters are written by the show.

Lenz read a question from a viewer and said, “‘I wish we could have seen Haley read a letter from Lucas just to hear what happened in their lives. We don’t hear from Lucas until last season. What would you like to Lucas, Peyton and Sawyer are up to? ”

In the series created by Mark Schwahn, Murray and Burton played as love interests, Lucas and Peyton, who marry and welcome a daughter in season 6. At the end of the season, the characters who move out of the city are shown – but as Bush and Lenz point out, their exit is explained thoroughly.

“I don’t even remember where they moved,” asked Lenz, who played the character Haley for the entire nine season’s run in the series. “Where did they go?”

“I feel that I remember a West Coast -thing or that they wanted to travel while writing his next novel,” Bush, who played Brooke from 2003 to 2012. “This is the problem, they didn’t give us enough to get (feeling) of where our friends went.”

Bush also claimed that the outgoing actors’ end from the series was mentioned to “The forces that were” back in 2006, but a decision to write Murray and Burton from the show had already been made.

“I know we brought this up with the forces that were at that time, but I feel it was more of personal beef than anything that made sense to our characters, which is unfortunate,” Bush said. “I used to ask and be like:“ Why can’t Brooke get text messages from Peyton? Why can’t you see them SMS? That why don’t I get photo updates from this child? It feels really weird. “

“He, our Creator … hoped the audience would just forget them,” the couple continued. “Which seems so stupid, because it’s a choice that is rooted in ego and it’s like, guy, you wrote those characters.”

Lenz also added that she thought it was strange for the couple to be printed so suddenly when so much of the show’s “world was built around” the characters and their love story.

“It’s like trying to prove that the show could continue without them and it did, but it could have been more meaningful,” Lenz said. “And (that) would have been more nice to have just to have their presence still somehow.”

Burton has before denied that she and Murray quit One Tree Hill And said they were both “treated badly” because their time on the series ended.

“I’m not sure where your information comes from, but Chad had nothing to do with me leaving,” the actress wrote on x Back in 2021. “We were both treated badly, and he defended me. I appreciate your support, but I just wanted to make it clear that Chad was my teammate. My bosses were S —-.”
