A Washington woman’s remains have been identified after almost 30 years as a Jane Doe – and now detective is looking for who killed her.
Skeletal remains were found in October 1997 by a person who passed through the forest in Pierce County, Wash., About 45 minutes from Seattle, but the police could never find out who she was.
Now, DNA test performed by forensic test companies Othram Labs Has helped law enforcement to identify Jane Doe as Laurie Krage, which would be 65 years today.
Krage was found with a dark blue long-sleeved sweater with a Lutheran University logo in the Pacific, Baby Blue Jeans and Size Four Reebok tennis shoes with yellow and green trim, according to a statement from Othram Labs.

In 2009, Krage’s fall got cold and she became known as Pierce County Jane Doe, the investigators said. Her case was introduced into the national lacked and unidentified the personal system until her DNA was given to the lab in October 2023.
Krage’s death is now being investigated as a murder, according to a news message from Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say that Krage was last known for living in January 1996. At that time she was married to her husband, Ronald Martin, who died in 2020 due to natural causes.
Everyone with information about collar and her extended husband was invited between 1995 and 1997 to arrive, says Sheriffen’s office.
