When Linda Truesdale was ready to finally undergo cosmetic procedures, she knew exactly who she would call after work – her son Dr. Carl TruesdaleA board -certified plastic surgeon.

It was last fall when Linda underwent her first surgery-a lip lift in tandem with an upper eyelid lift (also known as a blepharoplasty)-at the age of 68. During the two -hour operation, she was awake all the time, but during a stunning local anesthesia. “I’m the kind of person who wants to see it,” she explains.

Linda cured from the procedures almost seamlessly, but she encountered a small hiccup after failing to listen to “doctors’ orders”, some of which included avoiding salt and keeping their heads raised. Well, “One night I ate half a bag of kettled potato chips and I went to pick up something from the floor,” she admits how she ended with swelling after the operation. But it was pretty much the only complication she met and she was back to normal after about two weeks.

She waited for about four months to undergo a depth’s face lift to address her “dripping” neck, jowls and hook line.

The operation ended in seven hours (she was not awake this time, although she wishes she could have been) and Linda had minimal complications.

“I really expected more pain. There was only one area near my hairline where he made the upper forehead that was soft. It felt like when you get your hair braided or got a weave, and they pulled too hard,” she says, adding that it took some time to adapt to the stunning around her ear loops. All in all, it only took five weeks for her to start to feel like herself again.

While Carl usually charges $ 60,000- $ 120,000 for full facial rejuvenation in his practice, Linda’s procedures were 100 percent free. “What I paid was to give birth to Carl,” she says with a laugh. “It was a gift to mom.”

Linda led her son with her transformation so much that she didn’t even get a second opinion. “If he could do any kind of surgery on me as I needed, I would go to Carl,” she says, joking that she would get her hips made by Carl if she could.

But “the time I really had reservations was the night before the surgery,” she admits, “and I think, okay, we are getting ready to do this, what if something happens to me? How will my son survive it? So I had some sleepless hours the night before and just asked for it. But I thought he could do this.”

Carl tells people that everything from his point of view was everything a “whirlwind.”
