Pope Leo XIV Goes into his new role.
On Friday, May 9 Pulp In the Sistine Chapel, with over 130 cardinals presence, according to BBC. The mass followed Pope Leo was called Pontiff the day before he followed a two -day Konklav.

The leader continued to say that he wants his choice to contribute to the Catholic Church that gives light to drive out “dark nights in this world”, adding that he strives to be a “faithful administrator.”
“Even today, there are many settings where the Christian faith is considered absurd, intended for the weak and unintelligent,” he said according to the outlet.

He continued that “Missionary Outreach is needed desperately” is needed in places that prefer “technology, money, success, power or pleasure.”
Pope Leo XIV, born Robert Francis Prevost, is a Peruvian-American from Chicago. Before he was appointed as the Pope, the Pontiff served as bishop of Chiclayo from 2015 to 2023, head of Dicastery for bishops, and became a cardinal in 2023 (took possession of the early 2024, according to it Vatican). Each service was appointed to him by his predecessor, the late Pope Francis.
The new Pontiff, 69, is the first Pope from the United States and the first Augustinian Pope. His chosen papal names, Leo, follows a long tradition that goes back to St. Leo inwhich died 461.
In his first address as the Pope, Leo XIV shared a message that promoted peace and good works within the church.
“We must be a synodal church. A church that goes. A church that always seeks peace. Always seeks charity. Always try to be close, especially for those who suffer,” he said.

Father Alejandro Moral Moral Antón, Augustinians’ former general, told Vatican news May 8 that the new pope – a dear friend of Hans – is a “very balanced, very spiritual” individual, who “loves everyone.” Morality also shared that the new Pontiff’s choice of name probably originated from its respect for Pope Leo XIII, who generally advocated for the working class.

Pope Leo XIV’s first speech contains clues to how the new Pontiff will approach its tasks, morality said.
