HeartS Ann and Nancy Wilson Have always been pronounced about the reasons they believe in.
In a new interview with Milwaukee Journal SentinelNancy reflected on how the texts to Heart’s 1975 -Hit “Crazy on You” were written in response to the Vietnam War and noted that she felt “embarrassed” to be from the US at that time – as well as today.
“We were a bit embarrassed at that time to call us American because of the dirty politics in the Vietnam War,” told the 71-year-old guitarist and singer to the outlet, who highlighted texts from the song including “No Way to Breathe Easy” and “So afraid of someone who is so afraid of you.”
“To be as subtle as possible it is more embarrassing now,” Nancy added.

She also went in-depth on the band’s 1977-hit “Barracuda” and how its texts are aimed at “a real sleazeball with a satin jacket” that “wanted to make more money from the sexy chickens in heart” throughout her career.
For Nancy, the rough rock track “is even more relevant in Salacious billionaire culture with the grab-to-by-bye (expletive) mentality”, said she-with reference to President Donald Trump’s notorious 2005-sacrum published by Washington Post 2016.
“I think that for women in the culture, the pendulum will come back again, and there will be another renaissance in the art of shooting back to the oppression of the cranky old rich white guys,” added the heart musician. “I hope I live to see the next revolution.”
Ann previously told The hill In an interview in 2018 that “anyone except Trump” could use “Barracuda” in a political campaign, and noted when she “definitely would not” vote for him in the 2020 election.
