Liv Tyler shares Todd Rundgren’s reaction to her finding out Steven is her father

Liv Tyler opens up about his relationship with his father Steven Tyler and stepdad todd Rundgren.

“I think it is probably still very hard and painful and I don’t speak enough with him. I love him. I have brothers from him and I had a whole family with them,” said life about Rundgren, as her mother Bebe Buel dated around the time she was born.

Liv confirmed Steven, now 77, was her father at the age of “11 or 12” when she was given a paternity test. Years before, however, she attended one of his concerts and her mother, now 71, wasted the news.

“It was warehouse. The first wave was shock. After that concert we went home and my mom had a chaise lounge in front of a window. I remember sitting there for what felt like three days, but it was probably three hours,” she recalled.

Life added that she came “to this conclusion” by “Wow, I have two dads and all this love.”

“I was just really excited about it because they are all so different and so lovely,” she said before she added that there was a point when she was older where she needed “therapy.”

“(When) you get older … Your life starts formulating and then you are like: ‘Wait, I have to deal with this —,” she said.

When Liv was born in 1977, Steven struggled with drug abuse and Rundgren agreed to sign Life’s birth certificate. She has been Open about having two fathers in the pastCalled Todd his “spiritual father” in 1992 and explained how Steven supported her during the birth of her son Sailor in 2017.

“Both of my fathers are unconventional. They are like unicorns or magicians,” she told The custodian In 2017. “They are musicians through and through. How they think is just different. Their eccentricity has made me more practical and more normal, in a way.”

“I am so grateful to Todd because I chose to be a father figure for me,” Liv told the outlet. “It’s a big deal for a man to say: ‘I know this child may not be mine, but I still want to be her father.’ Although he and my mother were not together, he was always a very stable, loving power in my life.

Meanwhile, in 1997, life opened up to feel that Steven was her father – before she knew he was.

“Strangely enough, when I first met my dad … I didn’t know he was my dad and I fell in love with him. I put his poster on my wall,” she told Interview journal 1997. “I would talk to him on the wall … My mom has a diary post or something where I wrote: ‘I think Steven is my father.’ I had the same feelings for Todd. ”
