Kohl’s closes 27 stores this Saturday: Find out where

Kohl announced that it will close 27 stores in 15 different states this weekend.

The department store applied for bankruptcy in January. The issued a press release at that time announced the store’s closures in April 2025 and thanked its workers. Kohls is currently running 1,150 places across the country, of which the majority will remain open until further notice.

The closures will fall in the middle of the sales revenue. Total sales fell by 7.2% during the last quarter of 2024, which ultimately led to the decision to close 27 stores, USA today Reports. The profit also fell by 65.6% from 2023 to 2024, the outlet.

In addition to the closures, several Kohl’s places will also end their Amazon return program in the store. The program was first introduced in 2019. As a result, Kohl’s 10% of its workforce cuts over the 27 affected the places.

Its San Bernardino e-commerce distribution center is also closed when the lease ends in May 2025.

A Kohl’s rope signed people to the press release in January when they were reached to comment on Wednesday, March 26.

Kohl’s was founded in 1962 by Maxwell Kohl and is currently headquartered in Menomone Falls, WIS. Before the store’s closures, Kohl produced several celebrity campaigns in 2024, including a motherhood line with actress Lea Michele and one Kohl’s mother campaign with Inrcribable Kimmy Schmidt Star Ellie Kemper.
