Jaleel White is reminiscent of food fights on the set “Family Matters”

TGIF was back in a big way 90 -TALTE CON 2025!

The event, which was held in Hartford, Conn., Contained some of the most beloved stars from the iconic ABC programming block and looked back at that time in their lives.

The group was reminiscent of some of their favorite scenes to film. For white it was not one, but two large food fights that were part of Family issues.

“When I first made the first season of the show made a section called ‘Baker’s Dozen.’ I remember they had his big food fight with pies, and I was not in the scene as it was originally written, “he remembers.

“I went, and I prayed. I was,” I’m 13, please let me do it. I’ll do anything, “he said. Later, when he got the script, he learned to be careful about what he wanted.

When he received a rewrite of the section, Urkel was in it, but not so far had hoped.

“Steve Urkel shows up at the end of the food fight and the entire Winslow family pillars him with pies,” he laughs.

“I have a feeling that these lies at that time came extra hard, and I was just pummered, and I took it. And I remember it was the first week I ended up as a promo they ran throughout ABC all week. It was only me who went into the door and was hit by the pie.”

When another food struggle came up a season later, Urkel got not only his revenge, but the whole role and the crew came in fun – in front of a live studio audio.

“Right now I’m 17. It’s one of my favorite pictures in the cover of my book, just before we started filming. I began to notice that all my writing staff are just dressed horrible. And they were all very well paid, good looking people,” he shared.

“They were ready for us. They had pies down in video Village. They couldn’t even scream before the authors and producers and actors in the role just went on it.”

The popular 1990s Friday night programming block at ABC, preferably known as “TGIF”, was a staple in American households. But according to the man behind the concept, the acronym did not mean what you think it did.

ABC’s “TGIF” began in 1989 and ran through 2000. During its time, it contained the family’s favorites that Full house, boy meets the world, family issues, step by step, hanging with Mr. Cooper, perfect strangers and Sister, sister, among others.

Stars captured old comrades, opened about one of the biggest eras on television and enjoyed meeting fans at the nostalgic event.

The 90s Con will go through Sunday, March 30 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
