A single mother was deadly shot in front of her daughter during a road event in Panama City, Florida, on Saturday, February 22, according to a Panama City Police Department (PCPD) News notice.
Georgeann Park Garner celebrated his 48th birthday and Mardi Gras with his daughter Marileigh Lewis, 19, on Saturday when they were involved in a road event with Jubal Simmons, 23 and Ivybella Encino, 21.
Encino and Simmons were said to be angry with a traffic twig and harassed oral yarns and Lewis. The incident escalated alleged to a brief physical change “between Lewis and Encino before both parties divorced and returned to their vehicles,” police say.
Simmons shot the mother and daughter 11 times, “Striking Garner and Lewis in the chest and hit an uninvolted vehicle,” per PCPD. The other two passengers in Garner’s vehicles were unharmed. Encino was the suspect who drove Dodge Ram that drove away from Garner’s car.

PCPD officials responded to calls around 16:15, and a nearby officer chased Encino’s car that had moved from the stage. “Encino then hit a PCPD patrol unit and disabled both vehicles. She was taken into custody without further incident, ”according to PCPD.
Encino was charged with murder accessories, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, aggravated escape/avoidance law enforcement and driving while the license suspended/revoked.
Simmons fled on foot but was taken into custody at a short distance. He was charged with murder, three bills of attempted murder, two bills to push into an occupied vehicle, wipe out a firearm from a vehicle, manipulate with evidence and resist officers without violence.

When the officers arrived at the scene, both Lewis led by gunshot witnesses, and related witnesses were administered first aid before EMS arrived.
The victims were transported to a local hospital. Shortly after their arrival, yarns gave after their injuries. Lewis is still in ICU, per a Gofundme. She remains on a ventilator and “struggles for her life and still has a long recovery”, Per Gofundme created by Garner’s friend Sandra Pearson. The donation side was created to collect funds for medical bills, funeral costs and legal assistance.
