“The producers came up and asked me, and I became a little emotional,” she says about his casting. “I had just worked with him for the first time ever on the screen very short during the last season of LoopyWhere I actually played him. When the father is rolled away for treatment, their son is taken to wait in the employees’ break room until the end of his mother’s shift.

However, a mass shooting occurs at a nearby music festival and the hospital is left with the terrible case. Previous episodes annoyed that McKay’s parents would pick up their son. And exactly who it would be revealed in the section on April 3, entitled “20:00”, like no one but Brad.

When the series was admittedly Fiona’s biggest role yet, she felt proud to have her father at her side on set. “It all was very exciting,” she says. “And in the scene he tells me: ‘I’m proud of you.’ It was this moment where it was very clear that it was my dad who said that for me about it (the actor).

“It was a really beautiful day for Dourifs,” Fiona adds.

The actress shares that she is satisfied with the relationship that her and her supportive father has grown, especially in adulthood. “He is proud of me and I’m very proud of him,” she says. “We have a close relationship, which does not always happen as an adult. Because we are in the same career, we stop working together and spend time together in a way that adults are not allowed to do with their parents. It is a beautiful thing that I am very grateful for.”

I was proud to pump through my body because he is a very special person and a brilliant actor,” she explains. “We really trust each other. I could just look at him and the dynamics are there. After landing his role in the Medical Drama series, Fiona turned to Brad for advice, given that he once played a doctor in the HBO series Day.

“I definitely asked for some advice on all the medical jargons and how to get it to a place where it’s simple,” says the actress. “He told me to repeat the lines 40 times, which I did at the beginning of the season. I would get to know it so well that it was like a song I could sing.”

In addition to having a personal connection to her character through her shared patriarch, she also feels that McKay is an extension of her own personality. “McKay is like me on my best day,” says Fiona, noting that it makes her play her “scary and harder because you wonder,” is it okay if I don’t feel that I am doing something? ”

“There is also this fear I have,” she continues. “It’s like you don’t like McKay, you don’t like me. It feels very vulnerable. It feels much more vulnerable than playing a dirty monster, which has been my career until now.”

The show premiered for great success and quickly cemented itself as Max’s most guarded title globally and has already been renewed for a second season. Who will say if the viewers will see more of Brad and the dynamics between McKay and her father in the future of the series? However, Fiona wants “more victories” for her character.

“She tried a lot and did not succeed with as many patients as she wanted, so it would be nice. And then, yes, I hope she can do it through another very long day at the hospital,” she says.
