Fifth “Descendants” film in works on Disney with Stars Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker

Get ready for more of Descendants!

Disney announced on Tuesday, February 25 that the fifth part of the popular TV movie franchise is in the works. The new movie – which will have its official title announced at later date – follows the 2024 feature Descendants: the emergence of red.

Descendants Newcomers Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker Will repeat their roles such as Red and Chloe, the daughters of the Queen of Hearts and Askepott respectively. Leonardo Nam will also return as Maddox Hatter.

The upcoming film will mainly be set in today’s wonderland and explore “what” happily ever after “is really for Red and Chloe, after their return from their time -traveling adventures”, according to the film’s official synopsis. “The sequel deepens the warning at the end of the previous film:“ It has consequences when you change the fabric of the time. ”

Some new descendants will join the franchise, including Liamani Segura who Red’s sister Pink, Brendon Tremblay as Max Hatter, Alexandro Byrd as Luis Madrigal and Kiara Romero as Hazel Hook. More characters will be confirmed at a later date.

The addition of segura marks a mini High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Reunion for Cantrall, who played with the actress at the Disney+ series.

RISE OF RED Screenwriter Dan Frey and Ru Sommer also return to write the upcoming sequel together with Tamara Chestna. The production is scheduled to start soon, with Kimmy Gatewood directing the film.

The RISE OF RED Film, which premiered in July 2024, followed “Polar opposites” Red and Chloe when they crossed roads “in an important celebration in Auradon when unexpected chaos breaks out”, per official log line.
