A fan was removed from the tribun after heckling Boston Red Sox Outfielder Jaren DuranWho Recently opened up about their suicide attempt Three years ago.
Duran, 28, must be held back by teammates and coaches when judges and stadium security identified the fan and escorted him out of progressive field during the Red Sox-Cleveland Guardians game on Sunday 27 April, according to Mlb.com.
Red Sox star told media members after the match that the fan said “something inappropriate”, but refused to repeat what he said, Associated Press reported. The incident occurred after Duran fled in the seventh round of Boston’s 13-3 victory over the home team.
The AP reported that Duran stopped at the top of Dugout after the fan’s interaction, stared down at the heckler and then approached him after the inning ended. The fan tried to avoid the situation and ran up the time before being caught by security, according to AP.
“Fans just said something inappropriate,” Duran said after the match. “I’m just happy that security handled it and the judges were aware of it and they took care of it for me.”
Pulp reported that the fan had told Duran to “go – kill yourself.”
“When you open yourself, you also open yourself to the enemies,” Duran told the outlet. “But I have a good support staff around me – teammates, coaches and fans who supported me. So it was fantastic.”
In the Netflix documentary Clubhouse: One year with Red SoxDuran opened for the first time to try to commit suicide three years ago. Corona, California, natives said in the documentary that he was trying to shoot himself during the 2022 season “but nothing happened.”
“Until today, I think God just didn’t let me take my own life because I seriously don’t know why it didn’t go off,” Duran said. “But I took it as a sign that,” Okay, I may have to be here for a reason, “so that was when I started looking at myself in the mirror (different).”

In a statement, apologize to Duran after the match, according to Masslive.
“We are aware of the situation that took place during today’s game between a fan and one of the Red Sox players who violated our fans construction policy,” the team said. “We realize the seriousness of the behavior in question here and take very serious construction of this type. We apologize to the Red Sox organization, the player involved, fans in the area and addresses the situation. We have identified the fans in question and will work with Major League Baseball regarding the next step.
