Damn rushed to the hospital after falling 21 meters from the stand during the Pittsburgh Pirates game

A baseball fan was admitted to hospital after falling from the tribun above the field wall at PNC Park in Pittsburgh during Pirates’ games against Chicago Cubs on Wednesday, April 30.

The man, who has not yet been identified, fell over the railing during the seventh round, after the pirates Andrew McCutchen hit the ball through Infield. The man fell about 20 feet and landed on the warning track during the game. Coach, EMT and police rushed to quickly treat the man. The fan was put on a stretcher and carried from the field.

Another fan jumped from the lower part of the field wall to help the fan, reports KDKA. It is not clear if the other person was related to the man.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, Pittsburgh said general security in a statement. The police are investigating the incident.

“Tonight, during the seventh round of the game in PNC Park, an adult male fell from the right field bleach on the game field,” the Pirates said in a statement. “Pittsburgh EMS, as well as Pirates and Cub’s athletic training team and other PNC Park staff reacted and responded immediately and administered care. He was transported to allegheny General Hospital. No further information exists at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”

After the match, Pirates -Manager Derek Shelton offered his thoughts and prayers and thanked the medical staff for both teams for their answers.

“Although it is 350 meters away or whatever it is, the fact is that it went down … and then puts moving while the game is going on,” Shelton said, according to Post-Gazett. “I mean, (Cubs Manager) Craig (Counsell) saw it. I saw it. We both came out there. I don’t think the referee saw it unfortunately because of how the ball kicked. It’s extremely unfortunate. I mean, it’s an understatement.”

“I hope the Lord is OK,” said Cubs -Manager Craig Counsell after the game. “I’m thinking of his family and him right now. Of course I didn’t see it happening, but I saw that looking for the game. I just hope everything will be ok.”

The right field wall from which the man fell is exactly 21 meters long to honor the late Pirates legend Roberto Clemente, who wore 21.

The game was delayed for about 10 minutes before the game resumed. The pirates won 4-3.
