Dad traded his daughter’s engagement ring (exclusive)

Ever since she remembers, Bryce Sherring Have dreamed that her father designed her engagement ring. Her father, also called Bryce, 66, is a goldsmith who has been in the business for more than 40 years, and currently he and his wife, Lorna, run Family -owned goldsmith shop in Canada.

When it was time for the younger Bryce’s long -standing boyfriend, Dawson Leedahl, to prepare for his proposal, he collaborated with his father for help. Together they brainstormed ideas and eventually landed on a design designed from 18 carat white and yellow gold, with the setting in white gold and a Canadian diamond.

“18 is a significant number between Bryce and I, yes, for the two of us. And so I wanted it incorporated, and I know how important that number is for her,” says the father exclusively.

“It was very difficult,” he continues, leaving that the most difficult part of making the ring was to keep it secret from the whole family, even his wife. “It was important to me that my daughter’s mother and I shared this moment, to be happy together. I had to share business from personal life, and we are so happy to be part of the whole process.”

On February 10, the day after finishing the ring – which took a month to craft – he and his wife drove down to Arizona for a family vacation. When they arrived, they picked up their daughter and Leedahl from the airport.

A few days later, Leedahl suggested with the ring.

“Dawson has pretended to suggest me in recent months. So when it actually happened I was in shock,” says the bride to be. “We just went riding. It’s a beautiful place, and it was sunset and everything. So when he did, I thought,” Okay, you will really pull this now? It’s so annoying. “I thought he was just pretending.”

“I went through a whirlwind of emotions, and I haven’t even been able to stop looking at the ring since,” she adds. “It’s so beautiful, unique and perfect for me. I love it so much.”

Not long after the proposal, the bride decided to be to share some videos of her father who made the ring on Tiktok.

“She was everything on me: ‘Dad, why didn’t you document this, took any photographs, do this, do it?’ And fortunately, I have an employee who is fantastic with his mobile phone, videotape, “says Dad. “When she got for a moment, she looked at me, drove the store, held an eye on the Lorna and video banding of the chaos.”

Her hope of publishing the video was to document the special moment, one she loves to look back on and relive. But then the video went viral and collected more than 2.7 million views.

She admits that after the video went viral, she was surprised at how many people loved the ring. “I know there was no doubt in my mind, but sometimes people have their opinions like,” Oh, I don’t really like it, “and that’s good,” she says. “I actually didn’t see many comments like that.”

“It was really special for me that people just wanted to share so much joy with me and compliment the ring, talk about my dad and how special it is to me,” she adds. “It was a memory from two men who are really important in my life, so it was really heartwarming.”

“I think the craziest part for me is just that people think it’s so cool that my dad does it and for me that’s just like, that’s exactly what he does. He has always done it,” she continues.

While just got engaged and takes in her new, sentimental jewelry, the bride says that she already has her wedding band-so-so-called her father.

“A few years ago, Dawson and I visited my parents in Yorkton for Christmas. It was only me and Dawson there, and Dawson asked my dad how he made rings. Growing up in the industry, it was never something I really thought about. The shop Was closed, but he brought me and Dawson to the store, and we actually made these matching bands.

“We put them on the half -fingers in the hope of one day changing the size of them and using them as our wedding bands,” she adds.
