Dad beaten to death after confronting daughter’s alleged addicts



A New Jersey -man died on Easter Sunday after being beaten to death with a bat, according to local authorities.

Louis Serbeck, 54, died while he was taken to the hospital after a deadly confrontation during which his teenage daughter was also attacked, according to Columbia County Prosecutor.

Police have now arrested 55-year-old Eric Hannah and a named 17-year-old boy on charges of murder and weapons crime, according to a news message from the Prosecutor’s Office.

The less male man, identified only as JH by prosecutors, is also facing a further accusation of aggravated abuse.

The confrontation originated from an incident that occurred a day earlier, when the less male man is alleged to attacked Serbeck’s daughter, who is not named by prosecutors.

In the wake of that incident, Serbeck and his daughter went to talk to Hannah on April 20, according to the publication.

The male teenager met Serbeck at the door, and the publication says that the exchange between the two became physical.

“JH is said to have hit Serbeck in the head several times with a metal baseball tree,” the release says. “It is stated that (Hannah), who was present and joined the fight, hit Serbeck on the back of the head with a metal lamp.”

The release notes that JH “suffered facial injuries”, and that he also beat Serbeck’s daughter in the head with a bat.

Officials with Vineland Police Department soon arrived at the site together with workers with emergency medical services.

After assessing Serbeck’s injuries, EMS rushed him to the local hospital in Vineland, where he would receive a medical evacuation to Cooper Hospital in Camden, which is about 40 miles north.

However, Serbeck died on the road, according to the publication.
