Sarah Krafty Have slept as long as she can remember. However, it was not until the recent content creator and her husband, Joelalso a creator of social media, discovery CelinaspookybooAnother creator who records himself sleeping walks and splits the videos on Tiktok.
Inspired by her, the couple, who have two children, decided to try to catch Sarah’s late night movements on bands. They bought cameras and set them around their house, including in the refrigerator. During the first days after they started, they would review the pictures to see what Sarah had done up to that night.
Then, one day, with Sarah’s permission, Joel shared a video on Tiktok of one of his wife’s adventures late at night, which included putting an egg and mirax in a bowl. To his surprise, the video went viral and collected more than 1.4 million views. A couple of weeks later shared Joel Another tikok by Sarah who put the hair leg in the toaster, which also received 1.5 million views.
In the comments, thousands of people chimped in to share their own sleep walks Fiascos, or those with their relatives or friends.
“I was really surprised at how many people sleep,” says Sarah exclusively. “I couldn’t believe how many people knew about it or knew someone who had experienced it. I mean, hundreds of thousands of people.”
When talking to people over Zoom, the parents explained that they had a mental checklist that they go through every night, which includes locking all doors to ensure that Sarah does not walk outside. They also make sure that microwave, toaster and ordinary oven are turned off or locked – something they had not realized that these appliances could do until recently.
They add that security is their highest priority. While Sarah never left the house, she knows some sleep hikers who have done so. So after reading through the comments, the couple decided to share their night routine to deal with Sarah’s sleep hiking episodes in the hope of inspiring others to take precautions as well.
The Video went viral tooGather more than 1 million views, with people who share their own suggestions.

“Someone suggested taking the buds from the stove so you can’t turn it on, which I thought was a good idea,” says Sarah. “I have never had problems with the stove, but for people who make it mentioned some locks you can get. I was surprised at how many useful comments there were. Someone who said to hide the keys, for maybe your subconscious messages if you move them. I don’t know if I would remember if I moved them, but that is an interest.”
“It’s something she has experienced, and we have done for a long time, so it has become a fairly well -managed routine,” Joel adds. “What we do is just focus on safety, but taking all these extra steps can actually have a worse result. I mean, some people suggested to lock the bedroom door or put a child lock on it. But then others said that sleeping hikers can try to come out anyway, and it can be part of the dream.” Okay, now I go out the window. “

When you look forward, Sarah and Joel hope to continue to share Sarah’s sleep walk on TikTok to spread awareness and inspire others who can also be sleeping hikers to embrace the behavior.
“I hope it creates a little more talkative discussion about it,” says Sarah. “I don’t think so many stories have been shared about sleep hiking. And if more people share their things and share what they do, like our night routine, it can help other people.”
