Charisma Carpenter explains how social media would have affected ‘Buffy’ and ‘Angel’

Charisma carpenter Believe that Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel Fandoms would have gone “bananas” if the show had been broadcast at the age of social media.

Carpenter sat down for a conversation about all things Buffy and Angel on Re -rushed with Juliet Landau Podcast, which published March 27. During the discussion, the actress said that the show was already getting strong audience’s response to the internet back when they were on the air – and she believes that the presence of social media would have only increased the intense fank culture around both series.

“Back on the day when I was at BuffyThere were no social media, but there were message boards and there were conventions. So I have been able to benefit from communication with the fans from (one) early age, “said Carpenter.” I can imagine if we were on social media during Buffy and Angel, It would have only been bananas, cuckoo bananas. ”

Later in the conversation, Carpenter also revealed his favorite romantic mating all the time Within Buffyvese.

“My favorite couple is obviously Angel and Cordelia,” she said. But she shared that she did not think that her character should in the end have ended with anyone. “I feel that Cordelia was a kind of solo ladm.”

Carpenter played the character of Cordelia Chase at both exhibitions. She showed up on Buffy from 1997 to 1999 and was a series of regular Angel From 1999 to 2003. Her character is eventually written by the latter series, as Carpenter has said where directly related to her decision to have a child.

Carpenter also shared one of her favorite supernatural moments to shoot and explained that it occurred under her Last season on Angel.

“I thought it was really fun when Cordelia (…) became a higher being and went up to the ether. When he turned the conversation to his career as a whole under his appearance on the podcast, Carpenter opened about what she wished she had known when she first started as an actress – and specifically said she would say her younger self to have a “plan B” given she had constantly evolving the nature of the industry.

“Have a security plan because (…) as much as I love to do what I do, you must not always do it,” she explained.

She continued: “I feel that I was growing up at a time – and I was in the industry at a time – as (…) I think, could be seen by many of us who, like Golden Era. Because before (…) contracts were tough on actors, and now it looks like a contract becomes (even more) difficult to move forward.”
