Cause of death was revealed for 4 months old who died on the family’s boat trip

Tanna Rae WroblewskiThe cause of death has been revealed.

The four -month -old infant, who died after being subjected to extreme temperatures while he was aboard a boat with his family at Lake Havasu in Arizona last summer, died of complications of environmental heat exposure, people confirm.

Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed in a statement to People on Monday 5 March that the child died after losing consciousness around 17.00 Friday 5 July 2024.

Tanna Rae’s death was ruled an accident caused by exposure to elevated environmental temperatures, which were estimated to be 120 degrees, according to the medical review’s report. As a result of exposure to environmental heat, the child suffered hemorrhagic shock, anoxic brain injury and dehydration.

Hemorrhagic shock is when “severe blood loss leads to insufficient oxygen supply at cellular level”, according to New England Journal of Medicine. The anoxic brain damage caused a brain edema. This means that the infant’s brain did not have oxygen, which caused the brain to swell.

Dehydration caused low fluid intake and output, flattened fontanels (a baby’s soft spot) and a rapid decline in blood pressure that caused unconsciousness.

Before Lake Havasu City Fire Department arrived at the scene, family members performed CPR on the infant, according to one Gofundme page Created for the Wroblewski family. The first answers then transported Tanna to Havasu Regional Medical Center, according to the MCSO statement.

A relative performed CPR on the infant for five minutes before the first respondents arrived, according to the medical examiner. The first answers also performed CPR before being lifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital but was later pronounced death.
