Bindi irwin had to miss the annual Steve Irwin Gala This year, with his brother Robert Irwin reveals that she is in the middle of a health prime.
At the event in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 10, Robert, 21, shared that his older sister, 26, underwent surgery after her appendix burst.
“She’s going to be ok, but surgery – of all the things we were ready for, it wasn’t one of them,” Robert says exclusively people, adding that their mother, Terri Irwin60, would also miss the gala – held to honor then crocodile owners Steve Irwin – To help Bindi during her recovery.

“Bindi has become an incredible advocate for women’s health, and I think it is really important to prioritize getting help,” Robert tells People about his older sister.

“The only people who knew I was extremely unhealthy … My husband, my mother and my brother, and behind closed doors I struggled to do everything and everything,” Bindi said at that time and referred to his mother, brother and husband Chandler Powell28, with whom she shares 3-year-old Daughter Grace.
She said that endometriosis “is a huge problem for so many people and that there is not a lot of talk.”

Elsewhere in the podcast conversation, Bindi said: “I am so grateful to be on the other side of the surgery. There is no cure for endometriosis, but if you can get an operation you have a better shot on life.
