A couple used their butts to build Bünda Fitness Empire (exclusive)

There is a good reason for the logo for Punish Similar to a bikinated butt, but the company is about so much more.

It has been seven years since Men and Wife Master Kevin and Katie Lilly founded Bünda, their science-supported group condition program, the first merged TRAIRMASTER training with strength training. During that time, the company has grown from the first places in its hometown of Los Angeles to studios on Florida, Texas and Illinois, with nine more on the horizon.

The lower body -focused education offered by Bündda has gained popularity in celebrities such as Mindy KalingThe Addison RaeThe Noah BeckThe Olivia CulpoThe Jada Pinkett-Smith – And the list continues. When it comes to what led them first to the unique concept, “It was the biggest incandescent that ever went in my head,” Kevin tells People during an exclusive interview.

The licensed coach says he had a bit of a “Eureka moment” years ago when he realized that the letter B is similar to a butt, which is shown in the company’s cheeky logo design. But so long came after the couple’s love story and Bünda Journey had begun.

In 2007, Kevin got her first job from College at a gym in Philadelphia. When his boss gave him a tour of the facility, he saw a young woman on the stairs. “I was fascinated by this girl who stood high and walked on the TRAIRMaster hat down with Airpods in and said,” Don’t talk to me, “he says about the woman, who turned out to be Katie.

He asked her boss who she was and was told to stand down when Katie actually had a boyfriend. Then he remembers his boss and asked him, “” May I have to worry about you? “I said,“ Sir, you won’t have to worry about me.

Over time, he and Katie became “very good gym friends,” says Kevin. “I decided to move to LA; three weeks later she called me and said, ‘My boyfriend and I broke up.’

The two dated long distance. Meanwhile, while working at Crunch Gym, Kevin became a friend with a Brazilian couple. At Katie’s next visit to LA, he planned a joint workout to introduce her to his new friends. He knew a little that the double date would lead to the idea of life.

During training, while Katie made squats, the Brazilian girlfriend told Kevin that Katie, “has (a) Great Bünda”. That means the perfect ass, “explains the Brazilian Portuguese slang word.” It is the single biggest name I have ever heard for a gym in my life. ”

They packed the idea away, Katie moved west and the two got engaged while persecuted fitness careers. But while he took business classes at UCLA, Katie had an intensity that the group’s fitness industry was “about to explode.” She identified an area that the most popular gym did not raise: Strench in a lower body in a group environment. Enter Bünda.

Katie left her job to conduct building her Bünda full-time business, while Kevin continued to work with an impressive list of celebrity customers that he had gathered at his own gym. Soon they could convince a commercial real estate shopping “that we were the next big thing in fitness. I used every dollar I had ever done to build this space and invest in it,” Kevin said of the passion and sacrifice it took to move his wife’s dream forward.

Before we take the leap, “I told Katie,” look, we can either buy an apartment or we can do Bünda. “And she was like” I want Bünda, “he says about their conversation before opening the first place” I knew she was in, but that for me was like “Oh, she’s ready.”

Bünda was born in April 2018, and Katie’s first instinct turned out to be correct as the company has grown to 14 studios with over 2,000 students across the country.

“I meet new instructors or new employees, and it’s just like” Oh, cool. Katie’s vision and dream were big enough for people now buying in, and not only because we tell them, but because they see and feel the actual results, ”says Kevin.

The program emphasizes lower body training, but to be clear, “it is not a butt studio,” says Katie, while recognizing the brand and logo that her physique helped to inspire. “We are much more than that. It’s just a captivating name that really emphasizes lower body training.”

The program focuses on the lower body four days a week. “But every day is drastically different,” says Kevin. When it comes to the upper body, “it’s equally important,” Katie adds. “But the results are more easily detected in the lower body where body fat is dropped, lean muscle is obtained and toning occurs.”

When the couple prepares to welcome their second child, they like to invest in themselves and, yes, to put their butts on the line, was the right thing to do – not only for their family, but for millions in their growing Bünda society.

“Katie and I just follow our passions in life, and we know what we do is help people,” says Kevin. Outside physical transformations, “I think there is something to say about mental health and being part of a society. Sometimes it just feels good to throw someone, a stranger, some knuckles at the gym. Someone we can help, we are in.”
