8 people injured after the customer crashes the vehicle in Inglewood Carmax

Eight people were injured when a driver crashed into a Carmax dealer in the Los Angeles area.

On Saturday, March 8, shortly after 14.00 local time, the police were sent to the Inglewood Carmax site – at the 8600 district in South La Cienega Boulevard – when an obvious customer drove his vehicle to the business, according to both NBC News and Los Angeles Times.

Two people were critically injured in the crash, and six others suffered minor injuries, a spokesman told the Los Angeles County Fire Department Associated Press.

The authorities are now investigating the crash as a deliberate act per NBC News.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Inglewood Police Department did not immediately respond to people’s request for further information on Sunday, March 9.

Towards the end of the clip, the vehicle goes out to the back of the showroom. NBC News reported, with reference to the police, that the driver’s motive may have been a “business dispute.” His identity has not yet been shared.

“We suddenly saw a struggle, fight, it was really loud. Everyone was pretty worried and security tried to stop the guy,” Witnesses Sim Wang told Fox Affiliate KTTV. “Bang! Glass crashes sounds and people shouting.”

“I actually saw the car run over several people. A sales representative had to run over – his hand was crushed by the car. I was there, it was so close to me. There were two steps or five steps near me,” recalled Wang. “I shouted,” move out! Move out! “

Another witness, Mitchell Marshall, claimed that the suspect “hit” the place twice. “(I heard) a big boom for the first time. The second time crushes. I am a veterinarian – when I hear a boom I take shelter. It was completely unnecessary what happened in there,” he told KTTV.

A Times Employees present at the dealer during part of the incident claimed that the customer screamed at the staff before waved around a metal water bottle and jumped on the roof of a vehicle. Inglewood Police Sgt. Cesar Jurado told the outlet that the driver fled the stage after leaving the showroom, drove to the Los Angeles Police Department Recruit Training Center and eventually turned in.

Carmax said in one Facebook Statement on March 8 that the driver injured “several employees and customers”, who later received medical care. In a separate statement to NBC News, Carmax added that the suspect “had his vehicle evaluated.”

“This person was a customer and was arrested by the police,” the company said. “We appreciate the authorities’ quick answers to this terrible event. The security of our employees, communities and customers is our highest priority. We are deeply saddened by this event and our hearts go out to everyone.”
