A woman receives the silent treatment from her friend after she asked her to leave a party with her crying child. She feels bad with it, but people in Reddits “Am I A ——?” forum Say she had every right to take control of the situation and nix the child.
The 27-year-old wrote that she recently threw herself a birthday party, complete with drinks and games. Her 28-year-old friend showed up with her 7-month-old child.
“Now I love Sarah, and I know she is a mother, but I did not expect her to take the child to a party, especially because we had planned to play games, drink and chat. The child started crying almost immediately when they went in, and Sarah tried to calm her, but she clearly struggled,” wrote the birthday girl. She added that it was not a “temporary thing” and that the child cried loudly for almost an hour. So high, she added that people could not hear each other over the noise.
The woman added, “Some of the other guests became visibly uncomfortable. I eventually pulled Sarah aside and asked her if she might be able to step out with the child or take a break in the other room until the child calmed down. I explained that it was just difficult to enjoy the party to cry.

Sarah left and doesn’t talk to her now. “I feel bad because I know Being mom is hard, But I also feel it was my birthday, and I wanted it good without the crying child, “she added. On the internet people could see both sides of the situation.
Some think Sarah should take some responsibility. “She is the one who decided to bring the child. She is the one who decided to leave. She is the one who tries to punish you by using the silent treatment. She may be the one who reinforces and apologizes. Anything other than unacceptable. She is beyond rude,” someone offered.
Even other moms said Sarah were in line with. “I am a mom and I can’t imagine taking my child to a party and then letting them cry for so long. It is extremely rude and right,” added another.
Others felt about the new mother. “A first time mom with a 7 -month -old baby who will not stop crying is at best flooded with more hormones than a teenager,” someone said. And probably not get much sleep. They added that even though the woman was not “wrong” because he asked his friend to leave the room, but that may not be the point. “With friends, often it is not so much about who is right or wrong, but more about understanding and supporting,” they continued.
