What happened between Ellie and Abby?

After seven episodes of turns, The last of us Season 2 may have just ended with its most jaw-dropping rock males of all.

The second part of HBO’s Hit Post-Apocalyptic Series wrapped with a shocking finale on May 25. Co -creator Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann had previously warned the audience that the events in The last of us: Part II Would extend more than one season, with the show renewed for a third iteration in April.

Season 2 ended with Ellie (Bella Ramsey) Finally comes face to face with Joels (Pedro Pascal) killer, abby (Kaitlyn Dever). This was after a long and upcoming search for her in Seattle along with yours (Isabela Merced) and eventually Tommy Miller (Gabriel Luna) and Jesse (Young tooth), who came to their rescue.

In the end, Ellie’s desperate endeavor led to avenge Joel to another shocking death and no clear resolution on the way into Season 3.

How did it The last of us Season 2 end?

The last of us The Season 2 final developed for 50 minutes and opened with Jesse who tried to save Dinas’s life after she was shot in her leg with a serafit arrow.

With your patched up and on mend, Ellie and Jesse tried to meet Tommy – but something rubs on Jesse, who pushes Ellie to spill the news that yours is pregnant.

The couple arrives at the meeting place, just to discover that Tommy is not there. While they wait for him to return, they hear the rebellion on the radio if a snike shooter – as they assume is Tommy – and goes out to find him.

After hearing chats on the radio about Seattle Aquarium, Ellie realizes that Nora (Tati Gabrielle) suggested that Abby was hiding out there. With Jesse who wants to find Tommy and Ellie Hellbent on chasing Abby, the two go their separate roads.

Ellie finds a small fishing boat to take her over the water to the aquarium. But her plan is traced when she is thrown off her boat by a storm wave and washes up on a beach guarded by Serafites. Members of the religious cult almost kill her – but are traced by the Washington Liberation Front (WLF )’s siege on their village. Ellie escapes on her boat.

When Ellie finally reaches the aquarium, she finds Abby’s friends, Mel (Ariela Bars) and Owen (Spencer Lord). Ellie demands to know where Abby is, then kills Owen when he pulls a gun on her. Mel, who is pregnant, is injured in the crossfire and asks Ellie to save her child. Ellie cannot perform a C-section in time, and that is when Tommy and Jesse arrive.

The trio returns to the theater, where Dina hides. Ellie, traumatized from the events that night, agrees to cancel her revenge assignment and return to Jackson with the group. While Tommy is packing the equipment, Jesse and Ellie have a heart-to-heart conversation before hearing the muted sounds from Tommy is attacked.

They run to his rescue, and Abby shoots Jesse in the head before he can defend himself. Ellie hides quickly and appeals to Abby to let Tommy go. After throwing his gun, Ellie admits to killing Mel and Owen.

“I let you live and you wasted it,” Abby says before pointing to her gun at Ellie and shot.

The screen cuts to black – then fades into Abby and wakes up days before. It is revealed that she is in a football arena that has been transformed into WLF barracks.

After a season of ups and downs, it felt on this particular rockhanger “natural”, Druckmann said at a final press conference.

“We maintain everything, but no (other endings are) will think about, because what we maintained did not stay that long,” he said. “This always felt like the natural end point of the season.”

Where abby or ellie in The last of us Season 2 -finals?

It is unclear if Abby or Ellie dies The last of us Season 2 finals. During the last seconds of the episode, Abby raises its gun to shoot Ellie, but then the screen into black. Only the sound of a gun four can be heard.

What happens to Tommy and Jesse at the end of The last of us Season 2?

Abby shoots Jesse in the head at the end of season 2. He is the only character that viewers know for some are dead before the section cuts to black.

Tommy is injured but still alive at the end of season 2.

Jesse dies in this way in the game – and according to Druckmann, his “fate was always sealed.”

But now Dina and Ellie’s relationship will be much more complicated.

“Jesse dies partly because of Ellie – but Ellie does not pull the trigger, Abby does,” Mazin added. “(Yours) have been in pursuit of Abby, of a sense of justice. So now the question is: Who is she blaming?”

Will there be a season 3 of The last of us?

HBO renewed The last of us For a third season in April 2025 – just a few days before season 2 premiere, per Amount.

In May 2025, Catherine O’Hara – who plays therapist Gail Lynden in the series – told Amount that Season 3 Tomten will largely follow “The Abby Story” as she navigates in life in WLF
