Peace and The rose west Spent years committing some of the most terrible crimes in British history and cementing its place among England’s most notorious serial killer Duos.
For two decades, the man and wife sexually abused and murdered at least 10 young girls, including two of their own children. While held a regular facade on the outside, they hid a house with horror at home on 23 Cromwell Street in Gloucester, England.
As the time went by and more joined their long list of victims, Fred and Rose’s crime would eventually catch them – with half of the serial murder that still faces the consequences today.
Now, Netflix’s Fred and Rose West: A British horror story, Which premiered on May 14 withdraws the curtains of the years as make-wife serial killer duo spent and abused at least a dozen young women and the investigation that finally ended.
So, what did Fred and Rose West do? Here’s everything to know about the UK’s most notorious serial murder.

Before meeting Rose, Fred was previously married to Catherine “pure” Costello, whom he married in 1962 and later became one of his victims. Years later, he met Rose while standing at a bus stop in Cheltenham, England. She was 15 years old at that time, while Fred was 27 and the father of two.
Shortly after joining peace, Rose started working as a grandchildren to his daughters, and it was only a matter of time until things became romantic between the couple. In 1972 Fred and Rose married.

Peace had claimed to have committed several crimes before ever meeting Rose, from his 13-year-old sister Kitty who accused him of raping and impregnating her of murdering her grandson, Ann McFall, Per Fred and Rose: The Full Story of Fred and Rose West and Gloucester House of Horrors. He also murdered his first wife, Costello.
But after meeting steps, his crime escalated, and the two became partners in a series of terrible acts. Just before they got married, Fred and Rose began a murder game, during which they tortured and killed several people.

Fred and Rose’s killing spree stretched over decades and left behind a trail of at least 10 victims. The couple had a specific fixation on gender that involved bondage and brutality, and often shouted at vulnerable young women by attracting them in the form of offering work as a grandchildren to their children before exposing them to disturbing abuse.
While they may have had many more victims, Fred and Rose are known for being involved in the murders of eight women and girls – Lynda Gough, Carole Ann Cooper, Lucy Partington, Therese Siegenthaler, Shirley Hubbard, Juanita Mott, Shirley Anne Robinson and Alison and 1973.
Most of the women suffered torture and sexual abuse before being killed. Per CNNFred and Rose would interrupt their victims bodies before buried them in the garden in their home.

Fred and Rose were parents of daughters Charmaine, Heather, Anna Marie, Mae, Tara, Louise, Rosemary Jr. And Lucyanna and sons Stephen and Barry.
Fred and Rose’s children were also the subject of their abuse, which led to them ending up in the hospital 31 times between 1972 and 1992, per The Independent. According to the outlet, no one resulted in a reference to social services.
Among their children, the couple were both involved in killing Charmaine and Heather.
The former was Costello’s daughter from a previous relationship, but Fred aroused her as her own. According to BBCRose killed Charmaine in 1971 while Fred was jailed for car theft. When he was released, he buried her body under the kitchen window at home, according to the outlet.
Years later, the couple were responsible for killing their daughter Heather in 1987, which would also be Peace and Rose’s last known murder.
After several years exposed to her and her sister, Mae, to terribly sexual abuse, as described in Rose West: The Making of a Monster, Heather emphasized alleged friends at school, which made his parents anger.
She then lost from school and started applying for a job to get away from her parents. The day after she was rejected for a job that Resort Piga killed and buried her parents her under the patio while her siblings were at school.

After Heather was murdered, peace turned his abuse against his daughter Louise – which marked the beginning of what would lead to them being captured and held responsible for their years of crime.
Louise eventually trusted a friend, whose mother then made an anonymous report to the police. According to Fred and Rose, Louise made a statement to the police, and investigators were also sufficient to interview Anna Marie, who also detailed the abuse she had met when she lived with her father and stepmother.
Medical examinations confirmed children’s abuse, and early investigations revealed that Charmaine, Costello and Heather were missing. In 1994, Peace and Rose were arrested in many accusations, including rape and children’s cruelty, and their minor children were placed in protective care. During this time, a social worker noted that the children mentioned an ongoing family joke that Heather was “under the patio” Gloucestershire live.
When the case went to court, it almost fell apart when Anna Marie and Louise refused to testify, and the couple offered conflicting stories about Heather disappearance. But an investigator, detective constable Hazel Savage, remained persistent in the search for Heather and eventually secured a keyword for the Western family.
After the warrant was executed and Fred and Rose’s horror house was revealed, he admitted Heather’s murder, and her leftovers were found.

When their crime was discovered, Rose was accused of 10 bills of murder, while peace was accused of 12, according to CNN. But just before the trial would begin in early 1995, peace died of suicide on January 1, 1995.
Per BBC NewsHe was held in Winson Green Prison in Birmingham at the time of his death. According to CNN, Fred was 53 years old.

In November 1995, after a seven -week trial, Rose was found guilty of all ten bills of murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of Parole.
She is currently serving her judgment in HM Prison New Hall in West Yorkshire, England, and has maintained her innocence for many of the past three decades. Although she originally submitted an appeal, it was denied, which led to her case to the Criminal Case Review Commission in 2001. The IndependentFinally, she pulled the appeal in the hope of “reconciliation” with her family.
Rose remains in prison and according to The timesSpends much of their free time listening to the archer, playing monopoly and teaching cross stitches to other prisoners. According to the outlet, she was moved between the prisons after a plot to kill her was revealed.
