The crew that drives The army Black hawk helicopter that collided with one US airline Regional Jet in Washington, DC was “quite experienced”, according to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The deadly crash occurred around 21.00 Wednesday when the military helicopter carried out “a necessary annual night evaluation,” Hegseth said. Three people were aboard the helicopter and 64 people were aboard the American Airlines plane.
At least 28 bodies have been found from Thursday morning.
All 67 people aboard both aircraft that crashed into the Potomac river are dreaded dead, said Fire and EMS manager John Donnelly at a briefing.
All flights in and out from Washington, DC. Ronald Reagan National Airport was paused until 11.00 Thursday. Video films from the nearby Kennedy Center seem to show the aircraft that are united in a fireball.
“I have been completely informed about the terrible accident that just took place at Reagan National Airport,” said President Donald Trump. “May God bless their souls.”

Not clear what led to crash: Trump
“We did not know what led to this crash, but we have some very strong opinions and ideas, and I think we will probably say these opinions now, because over the years I have seen when things this happens,” Trump said.
“We think we have some pretty good ideas, but we will find out how this disaster occurred, and we will make sure that nothing like this ever happens again,” the president continued.

Trump used the press conference on Thursday morning to slap his predecessors, Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
Trump talked about requirements for workers with air traffic control: “I put security first. Obama, Biden and Democrats first put politics and they put politics on a level that no one has ever seen. “

President Trump provides update in ‘One hour of anxiety for our nation’
Donald Trump entered the briefing room at 11.20 and requested a moment of silence for the victims.
“I’m talking to you this morning on an hour of anxiety for our nation,” he said. “Real tragedy.”
Emergency crews utilized “every access to our disposal” to save the victims.
On behalf of herself and first lady Melania Trump, “Our hearts are crushed,” he said. He offered prayers to the victims’ families.
The reason for the collision is still unknown, he said.

FAA left no leader after the administrator resigned earlier this month
Mike Whitaker, the FAA administrator during the Biden administration, resigned before Trump returned to the White House, which means there is a vacant place in the post in the middle of an air disaster.
Back in September, Elon Musk, Trump’s “first friend” and head of Dogge, invited Whitaker to resign.
Whitaker announced in December that he would resign on January 20, the day Trump was inaugurated.

Aircraft collision “seems to be preventive,” says Trump’s army secretary at confirmation negotiation
During his confirmation negotiation on Thursday, Secretary to the Army -nominated Daniel Driscoll said that from what he has seen, the air collision is “an accident that seems to be preventive.”
He told the senators that he would cooperate with the Senate’s armed service committee to investigate the business: “I think we may have to look at where is an appropriate time to take a training risk, and it may not be close to an airport like Reagan.”

Flight operations to be resumed soon at Reagan National Airport
Reagan National Airport will resume aviation operations at 11:00, the airport said in a statement about X.
“All airport roads and terminals are open. Some flights have been delayed or canceled, so passengers are encouraged to check with their airline for specific flight information, the statement continued.
At a press conference on Thursday morning, Jack Potter, CEO of Metropolitan Washington Airport, emphasized that the airport was determined to be “safe.”
