Vera Wang shares all the details about her new scent, Vera Wang Love Eau de Parfum

Vera Wang know a thing or two about love.

She continues. “I have devoted such a large part of my life to the concept of romance and optimism. I think that when you get involved, it is one of the most optimistic things we do. We are really investing in a future, on commitment, on so many things that for me is an extremely courageous step.”

But for all this conversation about love, Wang would not consider himself a “romantic” – at least not in the healthy sense of the word.

“It is very funny that you would ask. I am proud to say that I am a romantic, but I am not romantic in what the definition of romantic is for most. I am not a frilly woman. If anything, I have been a very disciplined athlete. I trained in ballet at school for American ballet. “Dikotomi” Wang sees in her own attitude to fashion was one that she tried to take with her to this scent bottle, which takes the form of a patient’s diamond ring. “It’s romantic, but it’s elegant. Just as no one may be more equipped to catch love, Wang brought his years of jewelry designing in the creation of this bottle. “I have designed jewelry for about 28 years. I make jewelry for Jared Jewlers and Grass. I have also made jewelry for kohl and with Chow tai fook jewelry throughout Asia. So it is also reflective of that love for jewelry. ”

It also helps that Wang is a jewelry collector. Still, the process was “a lot of experiments and a lot of work – if you knew how many bottles we went through. But I credit my creative partner on this bottle, because she understood me,” says Wang about Suzanne Dalton, whom she had known for decades but never collaborated with until now.

Of course, the patient rests in the platinum -like environment, it is a particularly strong metal, which is symbolic of unbreakable love. “It’s meant to really embody that moment when you get the ring,” Wang explains.

“I’ve always tried my best, with wedding fashion, to break boundaries and constantly recreate scenarios. But I know that with this scent was the great construction of it so important. We tried many, many variations. But when I saw the ring, I just said, it’s just such a unique reproduction of what so many aspir.

For the scent, Wang landed on a “feminine and safe” amber’s floral scent with queen of the night nature imprint, which means that the ingredient was made for Wang, a much more sustainable alternative than coming from nature.

The designer says she gravitated against the ingredient “because it is as unique as a scent, but also because it is really very mysterious.” The flower blooms only at night, which “I thought borrowed romance to the concept of juice,” she adds.

The scent opens with top notes about mandarin essence, pink pepper SFE (a fresh yet spicy note) and black angle agreement before the aforementioned starring, along with hot tuberos and sensual jasmine sambac take the center. Velvete Amber Woods, and a hint of vanilla, grinds the aroma.

“After testing so many different combinations, in the end, it was the one who really had a wonderful story to tell and was symbolic of how I try to redefine married love. I think it only gathered, and I have to be honest, not without much thought, a lot of experiment and a lot of time.”

“I think of love, in this case, which is related to romance, but I really didn’t want it to be saccharin,” says Wang. While she still believes in the symbolism of the ring, she explains, “I wanted the project to reflect the times and reflect how modern people are. In a way, this project, love, is about people. It encompasses universal concepts through my eyes.”

Finding the right balance took a long time. “This was not a quick project overnight, and I just continued to say” God, help us. I hope this comes out “and” I hope I live when it comes out. ”

Although the scent was a “love work”, Wang is already looking forward to interpreting different types of love through more iterations of the scent.

“It’s pretty exciting as a project because we really plan it to be able to express many kinds of love, but this is the first,” she says and adds, “I want to celebrate whole The concept of love. It is something that I have always known is one of the most optimistic feelings we all want. ”
