Tim Gunn does not return to ‘Project Runway’ with Heidi Klum (exclusively)

Tim Gunn sets the record directly if he will show up on the coming season of The project track.

In an exclusive interview with People, Gunn revealed that several months ago, his long co-host, Heidi Klumtexted him about the possibility of returning to the reality TV series, which he hosted for 16 seasons before leaving in 2018 to create a new fashion racing show on Amazon Video called Make the cut.

“Heidi sent me a text saying: ‘It talks about bringing The project track Back with us, with you and me, and would you do it? ‘And I said,’ Would I do it? Of course, there is not a moment of doubt in me, “” Gunn, 71, tells people exclusively.

“So Heidi and I texted and texted, and several months later she sent me a text that asked:” Are you satisfied with your contract? “I’m a truth.” And she said, “You don’t have that?” No. So I called my agent and he knew things were going on, but he contacted the executive producers of this new show, and they said, “We don’t want him.” And (my agent) said: ‘Well, he has done 19 seasons of Time16 with Heidi. The two won an Emmy together as hosts, and now you will separate them? ‘And they said yes. ”

Gunn continues, “So I was not asked back. But several weeks after that conversation they went back to (my agent) and said: ‘Well, we have thought about it and we would be willing to offer Tim A small como in a section. ‘What do I do? In or if you are out.

After hearing the news, Gunn says he was “originally destroyed and then the type of humiliated.” But he quickly changed his perspective on the situation.

“I thought, how happy is I to have had the experiences I have had for the past 20 years?” he says. “This is phenomenal. I stopped boo-hooing. I thought, it really is to throw the hubris to an angry god for not mourning this new show. So I have come to terms with it. Am I disappointed? Sure. And most of all it is about not working with Heidi, but we go ahead and things happen for a reason.

Klum, 51, originally hosted the show from 2004 to 2017 (the final in season 16 which was broadcast November 2017 was her last) and won the 2013 Emmy Award for her role, which she shared with Gunn. She was nominated nine times during her term of office with The project trackWith the reality competition program that earns dozens of nominations overall.
