A bride was left heartbroken after her ordering of wedding reception was canceled just weeks before her big day. Her melody changed when an influencer came to the rescue.
Charleston-based bride Carley Brunetto, 32, asked colleagues for help after her dream reception dress turned into a nightmare situation. Last week she published a disappointing video on TikTok showing a screenshot of Her suspended SAKS FIFFH AENUE ORDERAlongside the text, “POV (point of view): You get your heart broken 8 weeks before your wedding.”
“Still getting married to best friend but @saks fifth avenue broke my heart 😫 If someone sees this dress for buy plz, let a sad bride who loves shell know 🥹#2025bride,” Brunetto captions its post.
She ordered excited that sequin dress with lace seashells that detailed on February 26, just to get it canceled on March 2. Customer support told Brunetto that the dress could not be re -arranged because of “a stock question of any kind.”
“I was definitely disappointed after that, and that was when I made the video, hoping that a few people can see and may be able to find the dress online elsewhere,” Brunetto tells People. “It was perhaps a bit dramatic, but I really didn’t think that something similar would happen – for me it was more an edition to the universe’s kind of moment that got the answer back.”

She continues: “It may seem a little stupid to cry about a dress, but weddings and the whole planning process is a really emotional time so I think many brides can probably be.”
Brunetto’s video quickly went viral, with it now on 4.7 million views and 265,000 likes. Fashion content creator Madeleine White, 29, saw her foundation for help and knew she could save the day.
In a defendant video with 15.6 million views and 2 million likes, White explained that she happened to have the same dress in Brunetto’s size.
“Sometimes the world’s most extra wardrobe will be practical 😂. Enjoy !!!
White, also a bride to be, plans to tie the knot with DJ Andrew Fedyk somewhere in Europe in the summer of 2025. Although White has “three wedding dresses” and about 20 bride-esque looks in her wardrobe, she actually bought the cream dress for her summer holiday last year.
“I had no plans to wear it again, so I was so happy to watch this video show up on my FYP and know I could help,” White tells people.

Nearly 5,000 people commented on White’s video and praised her for her generosity. Brunetto – who will marry J Chris Owens, 36, at Canoe Club Daufuskie Island in South Carolina on April 26 – has been moved by White’s kindness, along with the hundreds of other women who offered to send their wedding dresses to her.

“There were so many comments from girls who shared links to rent the dress or offer to sell their, or just support each other, and it was so sweet to see girls meet,” says Brunetto. “This is the cutest thing that has ever happened! I think it is really fantastic to see how someone’s genuine kindness can send such a rippling effect of positivity.”
