The remains of a 79-year-old Florida man were two days after he first disappeared, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation.
William Davis disappeared after he and his wife took the Cog railway to the top of New Hampshires Mount Washington on Wednesday, July 16. His wife reported that he was last seen near the observation tire about 15:20 local time.
“From there no one knows where he went,” said NH Fish and Game Department in one News notice.
Davis spoke to an employee in State Park on the phone, and he expressed that he seemed to be lost and off-trail. He did not know where he was, but his description of the area meant that he was not that far from the top and he could easily be located. After an hour’s search, Davis had stopped responding to his phone and was still not reported.
NH Fish and Game was then announced about his disappearance around 18:00 around 24 rescuers and a drone team applied until 2 o’clock on Thursday, July 17. The group continued the search early that morning at 06:00 due to bad weather conditions, including 40-degree temperatures, rain and a 32-degree wind cooler, the search closed until evening.
The search was resumed Friday morning. Davis’s body was around 11.00 and 400 feet from the Lion Head Trail between the Alpine Garden Trail and Tuckerman Ravine Trail, according to the news message.
The government agency said it is unclear how Davis ended up on the scene.
“He was not a hiker, had no map, and every indication is that he wandered from the top without telling anyone where he was going,” according to the agency’s statement.

“Although it is too early to determine the exact cause of death, it was clear on the spot that Davis got a significant case from a steep, rocky slope,” said NH Fish and Game.
His body was transported to the National Medical Examination Office to determine the cause of his death.
