A woman wonders if she was wrong to suddenly interrupt a trip with a friend after a difficult money situation developed.

On one post To Reddit’s “Aita” forum detailed a 20 -year -old woman how a “fun summer trip” to Los Angeles failed to get up from the ground.

The woman said that her friend, 21, had talked about the idea for months, and because they live about 8 hours away, the woman only assumed that flights would be the most practical mode of transport. When she told her friend that it was probably time to book tickets, she wrote that her friend “looked really confused” and said she could not afford it, which indicates that they are driving there instead.

It got more confusion.

“If she can’t afford a $ 150 air ticket, how she planned to pay for the activities and places she wants to go (Nobu, Jetskiing, shopping, clubs, etc.) that everyone adds,” wrote the woman.

To make things worse, the woman wrote that because her friend does not have a driver’s license, a road trip would mean that she would have to do all the runs herself.

When she picked up the shortcomings in her friend’s plan, the friend moved by it.

“She just laughed and said that because I have money, she assumed I would pay for a majority of her expenses,” the woman wrote. “I was shocked for why would she assume that I would pay for her expenses without even asking?”

The woman wrote that yes, she was good at picking up the tab for drinks or buying them something small as ice cream, but there was a limit. She went on to note that they had previously agreed to share hotel costs 50/50, and it seemed to be the cost that her friend was good to cover herself.

In the end, the woman told her friend that she should not have asked to go on the trip if she expected her to “pay for everything”, but her friend did not agree and claimed it is “unfair” because the woman can afford to pay for both of them.

Those in the comments unanimously took the woman’s side. As a commentator, put it, her friend treated her as “an ATM”, which is not okay.

“Of course, this” friend “is upset. She dreamed of having a holiday on your crown,” added another commentator.

“There will always be someone who has more money,” read another answer. “This does not mean that the person is obliged to pay someone else’s way.”
