Lindsey Eaton And her boyfriend, Charlie, moved into her new house in Atlanta when something caught Eaton’s eye.
In the house they found a 4’5 “of 3’6” scenic landscape painting with a thick, gold wooden frame, with lively and beautiful flowers. At first glance, Eaton, 27, was not surprised, as the previous owners had left things behind, including two other paintings, even though they were not as big or as striking as this one.
But when she and Charlie later pulled out the painting for a closer look, Eaton says exclusively that they were “shocked at how untouched and beautiful it was.”
“We honestly have no information about its origin,” she says, adding how the former owners already lived abroad for a year before they sold the house. “The sellers never mentioned most things they left behind, including the painting. There are no signatures or markings on what gives any clues.”
“My mom suggested I kept it on and designed my room around it, while my boyfriend joked about selling it on the Facebook market for $ 25,” she continues. “When it comes to my dad, he suggested that I keep the frame and replace the painting with an LSU poster, because I went to school there.”

But a little while later, when the couple settled and organized different areas in the house, Eaton cleaned out the shed where the painting had been stored when she had an idea. She decided to take a video of the painting and publish it in her Tiktok account in the hope that someone on the app could help identify its value.
Not long after posting she noticed Tiktok video Go viral, gather more than 1.4 million views and 600 comments.
“How I would hang it up so quickly in the house 😂”, comments a user.
“Google says it’s huge garden scene painting on canvas, John Sloan,” says someone else.
Another user writes, ”asks Idk Leo from love is blind. “

“The comments are completely funny,” says the head of social media. “Some are actually informative, especially from art dealers, while others are only on the trip. Useful.
“They are full of fun theories. Some people think it is haunted, others are convinced that it is worth a fortune and others say it is probably worthless,” she adds.

Despite the comments that urge her, Eaton explains that she will not contact the previous owners because they are no longer part of the story. “Finder Keepers,” she says, noting that she had been told that everything that is left in the house is now hers.
“The previous owners left a lot for us to clean out, so it feels like they were not going to take everything with them,” she explains. “In addition, they live abroad, and we were never in direct contact with them, which makes it even more complicated.”
When it comes to now, Eaton says she has tried to investigate the painting in every way she can think about, but continues to come up with nothing. She has also been enough for an art auction house and is currently waiting for an estimate. She can even get a couple of different estimates to see what experts think. And of course she will keep Tiktok followers updated.
“Dream results? It turns out to be a single painting worth millions,” she says. “But realistic, if it’s worth a couple of big ones, it would be fantastic because we have some house costs right now. Worst case, it’s been a fun adventure and I like the mystery.”
“It’s the lesson: You never know what hidden treasures you can reveal in a new home! Always lean on your community for help, don’t be afraid to ask questions and stay curious – you never know where it can lead,” she She’s supplement.
