The agreement Provides that a copy of Tiktok’s content recommendation algorithm will be included in the US Joint Venture system, an official in the White House told reporters.
“It will be inspected and retrained by the security supplier on US user data, and then it will be run by the US unit,” said the official, talking on terms of anonymity.
Washington has severely tried to take Tiktok’s US operations from the hands of the Chinese parent company Byteanance over national security reasons.
Under president Donald TrumpP forerikers Joe BidenCongress adopted a law to force away to sell its American operations or meet a ban on the extremely popular platform.
But the latest updates came after Trump Praised progress Friday with Chinese President Xi Jinping on questions including TikTok after both leaders spoke for the phone for the second time since Trump’s return to the Presidency.
Trump is expected to sign an executive order on the issue this week and explains that the Tiktok business meets the US national security needs, the US official added on Monday.
