A groom in Australia was seriously injured after a taxi that carried him and his grooms crashed and rolled down a embankment on his way to his wedding, according to reports.
On Wednesday, July 30, at about 10:30 Local time, rescue services were called “to Mount View Road, Mount View (in Hunter Valley) after reports of a crash with a vehicle,” said the police force in New South Wales (NSW) in a statement obtained by People.
“At the site, officers located a minibus that had rolled down a embankment,” the police were given. “Two of the residents are reportedly under serious but stable conditions.”
The groom is one of the two people seriously injured in the crash, according to Australian broadcasting company (ABC).
The police said in the statement obtained by people: “The other four passengers are assessed for various injuries that are not believed to be serious.”
“All passengers have been transported to hospitals for further assessment and treatment,” it continued. “A crime scene has been set up by officers linked to Hunter Valley Police District.”

“I can confirm that the people on the bus were in fact a groom,” said NSW Police District Commander, Superintendent Steve Laksa, according to the outlet.
“The groom in the wedding was actually on the bus, a 56-year-old man who suffered serious injuries,” he added Per 7news.
Another passenger in the 60s has main wounds, the publication reported, while the groom is believed to have suffered limb damage in the crash.
The two who were in critical condition were taken to John Hunter Hospital by helicopter, while the other four were taken to the same place by ambulance, 7news said.
Superintendent Laksa said that the driver of the minibus will undergo mandatory blood and alcohol test, according to the outlet.
NSW Ambulance Acting Superintendent, Jake Broughton-Rouse, said “the vehicle rolled about seven times”, Per ABC, and added that it took the crews 45 minutes to cut the injured man with head injuries out of the taxi.
Superintendent Laksa said about the incident, “they hadn’t even come to the wedding yet. We are very lucky that the injuries were not deadly,” Per ABC.

He added that the weather conditions may have been a factor in the crash, the outlet noted.
“It is drizzling, dirt road, unseen path, could have all been factors in the collision,” he said, insisting that “there was no information or indication that alcohol was a factor” despite the compulsory testing.
NSW Health did not answer immediately when contacted by persons for further information.
