A buyer found what seemed to be human remains in a storage unit they bought, said the Oregon authorities.
The Dalle’s police department In a news message, its officers responded to a call on July 29 from someone who said they bought the storage unit and encountered a container in the cabinet that wore the possible remains.
Dalle’s police officers arrived at the scene 2640 W. 6th St. And secured the area, says the department. They then contacted Columbia Gorge Major Crimes team, which was introduced to investigate.
“About 17:00, major crime showers, with the help of Oregon State Police Crime Laboratory Response Team, conducted a search order of 2640 W. 6th Street in Dalles and recovered human residues,” the police continued.
Witness Tawnya Williams told Fox Affiliate KPTV That she saw the authorities enter the storage unit and collect evidence.
“They wore masks and gloves and they carried like paper bags and knit them in the evidence car and took lots of pictures,” she said. “It was a black tote that was under the tent and they took lots of pictures of things in there.”
The identity of the remains will be determined by the state medical examiner after an autopsy, according to the police, who warned of speculation or draws conclusions based on what has been shared so far.

“Every available resource is taken to investigate this potential crime and I have all confidence in the ability (off) our detective and our partner agencies that help us in this investigation,” said Dalle’s police chief Tom M. Worthy in the news message.
