A bride stands up against her family when they press her to replace her best friend who maid Because she is “terrible on public speaking.”

The 24-year-old bride detailed her dilemma in a recent post on RedditExplained that she and her best friend Jenna, 25, have been “inseparable” since high school and that “there was never doubt” in her mind that she would be her maid at her upcoming wedding.

But she admitted that Jenna is “painfully bad” when he spoke. “She gets nervous, stumbles over her words and sometimes freezes completely. Even in relaxed environments, if she has to address more than a handful of people, she panic,” shared bride.

Still, the bride is having Jenna by her side as her maid – but her family thinks she makes a big mistake.

“A few weeks ago my sister pulled me aside and asked if I would consider replacing Jenna with someone” more safe. “She said that the court mother is one of the biggest moments in the wedding and having Jenna fumble through it would be” troublesome for everyone, “she wrote.” She even suggested that she would take over the role instead and say, “You know I would definitely crush the speech.”

The bride said she “closed it (the proposal) immediately”, told her sister that Jenna means more to (her) than a perfect number ever could. ”

Unfortunately for the bride it was not the end of the discussion. Now her parents weigh in and take her sister’s side. “(They) say:” It’s not personal, it’s just about making the wedding as smooth as possible, “she wrote.

The bride said that Jenna is not aware of these conversations about her role and that she does not want to take it up for fear of “crushing” her. Her hubby has suggested that she finds’ a way to gently let (Jenna) from the hook for speechJust to avoid used embarrassment. ”

But the bride stands on the ground. “I refuse to do it,” she insisted. “She’s my best friend. She deserves this role. I don’t care if she stems through every word – I’d rather have a heartfelt, messy speech from someone I love than a perfectly delivered one from someone I don’t feel so close.”

However, her family does not release the question. “My family continues to insist that I am selfish by prioritizing Jenna’s feelings of” the quality of the event “,” The bride ended her post and asked colleagues, “Aita (am I a ——) to refuse to replace her or ask her to skip the speech?”

Quite a few wondered if the bride could “make their own rules” for her wedding and refrain from the traditional maid for honorary preparation for Jenna’s comfort. They suggested that she have a conversation with her best friend about the situation.

“What is important here is how Jenna feels like holding that speech. If she really panicked when she speaks in public, she may feel extremely worried and is too scared to tell in fear of disappointing you on your big day,” wrote a person. “This is definitely a conversation you need to have with Jenna. She has to make the decision to give a speech or not depending on how she feels, not anyone else.”

Some Redditors offered some ideas about Jenna to reject to give the speech.

“If she does not feel capable of talking in front of a crowd, it is perfectly good for someone else to speak on her behalf. She can even write (the speech) herself and get someone else to speak, if that is what she wants,” said a person.

Another wrote, “Give Jenna the opportunity to give a pre -recorded speech, with the excuse it has pictures of you mixed.”

Someone else pointed out that if Jenna works with the courage to give a speech to honor the newlyweds, the moment will be so much more meaningful to the bride. “Imagine how much more special Jenna’s speech will know that she is struggling with public speaking and still managed to do it for you,” they noted.
