A body has been discovered in the midst of the search to miss New York City -man Brian Tarrence, as disappeared last month when they visited Turks and Caicos with his wife.
According to Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF), officers, who were looking for Tarrence, 51, on Saturday, July 5, about 9:06 near the country’s Grace Bay, “discovered the body of a deceased man in a state of degradation.”
Officers have not yet officially identified the body, and RTCIPF said it would provide further updates as soon as the identification process is complete and that the relative is informed.
“The Royal Turks and Caicos Island’s police force extend sincere condolences to the family’s family and friends,” said acting police Rodney Adam’s Commissioner Rodney Adams. “We urge the public to refrain from speculation and have the investigation process confirm the identity through official channels.”

News 12 Westchester and Fox News First reported that Tarrence was last seen on surveillance video which left its rental property at Paradise Inn in Grace Bay about 3:30 local time on June 25.
According to News 12, Tarrence was seen walking towards the island center. He reportedly arrived in the island with his wife on June 22 and would leave a week later, June 29.

When he spoke to people, private investigator Carl Defazio, who works with his husband’s family, said that Tarrence and his wife, Maria, arrived at Turks and Caicos on Saturday, June 21.
Defazio also claimed that their vacation began “as normal.” The couple lived in Grace Bay Area, about 150 meters from the local police station.
The surveillance films that captured Tarrence on June 25 showed him with his phone in his hand and his wallet on his person as he walked down the street, Defazio said.
His wallet has not been found, but no fees have been made to his card, according to Defazio. No calls have been made on his phone either.
Defazio told News 12 that the incident was “Bizarre.”
“Everything before the point where he went out of the house, he seems good,” Defazio told the outlet. “They had a boat trip and went for dinner, just like any other families would do when they are here.”
By Tarrence left his hotel overnight, Defazio said: “It’s a little bizarre in itself. … He’s in the middle of the city. His wife was asleep.”
RTCIPF has urged everyone with information that concerns the incident to contact the police, or call Crime Stopters on 1-800-8477 (tips) or the P3 Mobi app.
