The body of transgender people found, tortured for over a month: police

Five people have been arrested after a 24-year-old Transman was found dead in New York after being subjected to over a month of “physically and psychological abuse”, police have said.

On Friday, February 14, New York State Police said that the remains of a man, whom they thought were Sam Nordquist, originally from Minnesota, had been found the day before in a field off Payne Road in Yates County, Per en Updated missing person appeal.

Officier confirmed Precious Arzuaga, 38; Jennifer A. Quijano, 30; Kyle Sage, 33; Patrick A. Goodwin, 30; And Emily Motyka, 19 had all been arrested and accused of murder in the second degree with ruined indifference, the release stated.

The victim had lived at Patty’s Lodge in Hopewell, new with Arzuaga and others, police say. All five suspects have been arranged and arrested to the prison in Ontario County.

“Following extensive investigative efforts, law enforcement officials revealed evidence to indicate that Nordquist was subjected to ongoing physical abuse between December 2024 and February 2025,” stated the post.

The release continued, “Investigators conducted several search options on Patty’s Lodge and other places tied to the case. Proof, including electronic units, clothing and personal effects, has been secured for further forensic analysis.”

“The investigation indicated that the victim was subjected to long -term physically and psychological abuse before being transported to Yates County, where the remains were divested,” spent the police and confirmed that Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office “will carry out an autopsy to confirm the cause and death.”

The victim had most recently been in contact with his family at the end of January, says the police in the first missing person’s post. He was last seen in early February.

Captain Kelly Swift from New York State Police Troop E’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation said during a news conference on Friday that officers had not ruled out that the murder was a hate crime in the middle of the ongoing investigation, Per Klipp shared by News 10 NBC.

Swift said that a “deeply disturbing pattern of abuse” had in the end resulted in the victim’s death, and that he had “been subjected to repeated actions of violence and torture.” The officer said it was one of the “most terrible crimes” she had ever investigated in her 20-year law enforcement career.

Ontario County District Attorney Jim Ritts said the case was “by far the worst” murder investigation that the office had ever been a part of.

The victim’s mother, Linda Nordquist, told CNN subsidiaries PROTECT that her son “had a heart of gold and would not hurt anyone.”
