Suspected Vance Boelter caught in Minnesota Legislers

Vance Boelter has been arrested in Shooting deaths of democratic Minnesota legislator Melissa Hortman and her husband MarkAccording to Associated Press.

The suspect, 57 – as is also alleged shot democratic senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvetteboth of which survived – were Arrested Sunday evening after an almost two -day manhunt per two law enforcement officials who spoke with AP. He allegedly claimed a law enforcement officer under firearms and went to the legislature’s home in an act characterized as political violence by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

The shootings took place early in the morning on Saturday, June 14. David Carlson, Boelter’s roommate, told reporters that Boelter sent him, as well as another individual, text messages on Saturday morning who started, “I love you. I have made some choices, and you know nothing about this, but I will be gone for a while. I can be dead short.”

The lyrics, Per Carlson, continued, “So I just want to let you know that I love you both and wish it had not gone this way. I don’t want to say anything more and imply on in any way, because you know nothing about this. But I love you, and I’m sorry for all the problems this has caused.”

During a press conference on June 14, the police revealed that they had discovered a “manifesto” with a “list of names” in a vehicle that they think the suspect had driven. They also stated that the vehicle “looked exactly like an SUV squad”, equipped with emergency lights that made it look “exactly like a police vehicle.”

“I will tell you when we searched the vehicle there was a manifesto that identified many legislators and other officials,” Brooklyn Park Police Department Chief Mark Bruley said during the press conference. “We immediately made warnings for the state, which took action. Warn them and provided security if needed.”

Hortman, 55, the former Democratic speaker for the Chamber, and her husband, Mark, was killed in the attack during the early morning hours on Saturday, June 14, said Prime Minister Tim Walz at the same press conference.

Hoffman, 60, also a Democrat, and his wife, Yvette, both survived shooting and now receive care, according to the governor.

“We are here today because an unthinkable tragedy has developed today in Minnesota,” Walz, 61, began. “My good friend and colleague, speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, were shot and killed earlier this morning in what seems to be a politically motivated murder.”

Hoffman and his wife Yvette survived Skytte overnight, and in mid -morning on June 14, “Out of Surgery” and “reception of care,” Walz said.

“We are cautiously optimistic, they will survive this attempted murder,” continued the governor, leaving that “this was an act of targeted political violence.”

Hoffman and his wife were first shot in their Champin home, and the police warned of the first attack around 02:00 local time, said Drew Evans, superintendent for the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal App Rehearsal, on June 14 the press conference.

Police then checked “proactively” at Hortman in their home in Brooklyn Park, when they met the suspect who “immediately” shot at them, according to Evans.

“They exchanged shot weapons and then the individual could escape during that exchange of shots at the home,” said Evans.

Brooklyn Park issued an order for protection on site while looking for the suspect, who represented himself as law enforcement, Kare 11 reported.

The inhabitants of the area were encouraged to report “all suspects, especially with individuals who mimic law enforcement”, according to Bob Jacobson, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
