“Superman” star David Corenswet about what Christopher Reeve’s son told him (exclusively)

Superman Star David Corenswet got some encouraging words from the son to a former Superman.

Will reve – Good morning America correspondent and children of Late actor Christopher Reeve – Has a como in the upcoming movie, and the two men had a chance to chat.

“He is a very sweet and encouraging and positive guy,” says Corenswet, 31, about the journalist, 33.

“It would be strange to say that he gave us his approval stamp because he would be the first to say that it is not his place to approve or reject,” he continues.

“But when you have someone like him on sets excited about what they see and who is excited for you, it is a very encouraging sign and means a lot,” he says.

“Both because of his connection to his dad and the original big screen Superman, but also just because it’s always good to have a 6 ‘4” stylish, sweet guy says, “Hello, you are doing good things. Continue.” It’s always good. ”

Christopher Reeve played Superman In four films, starting with the 1978 Superman: The movie. He re -examined the role in Superman II (1980), Superman III (1983) and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987). Reeve died of heart failure in 2004, nine years after a riding accident left him paralyzed from the neck down.

After Reeve, Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill depicted the superhero on the big screen.

Corenswet takes its turn when Superman Debuts in theaters on July 11. Nicholas Hoult – who also auditioned to play the man with an S on the chest – costs like Lex Luthor, while The amazing wife Maisel Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan Playing Lois Lane.

Philadelphia Native Corenswet has previously played on Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series Politician and Hollywood. He has also appeared in other films including GEM and last summer’s blockbuster Twin.

While Corenswet was on a break from making the latter film, he received the call from director James Gunn and told him that he had become a role as a superman.

“It started with,” Hi David, it’s James Gunn. “And I said,” Can you prove it? “I guess that in the moment before I saw the unknown 310 number, I thought, ‘I’m pretty sure this is James who tells me whether I got the part or not, but it may be someone from Los Angeles who has my number and maybe someone will play a prank on me,’ ‘reminds of Corenwet.

“Anyway, I think he appreciated it and he said,“ It’s a good point. I urge you to offer you the role of superman. “And I said,” Well, you’re the only person who could do it, so it must be you, “he adds.
