A subway employee was arrested and accused of claiming to lock a young girl in a room after walking on an area with flooring that was freshly moped.
On Monday 21 July, James Anthony Morris Jr. After claiming to imprison a 10-year-old girl on a Jacksonville, Fla., Subway Location where he is the manager, Law and crime reported, with reference to an arrest report from Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Action News Jax Also reported on the incident.
After arriving with his mother at the restaurant – located on Argyle Forest Boulevard near Old Middleburg Road, Per Action News Jax – the girl went in an area like Morris, 33, had just moped, according to the report obtained by Law & Crime. Her mother then asked her to apologize according to the report.
The subway manager then arrested the girl in his hand and brought her to the back of the restaurant, where he locked her in a room, according to the arrest report. Originally, the girl’s mother thought Morris was playing around, but then began to “get panic,” Law & Crime reported.
The distressed parent tried to open the door, but Morris is said to “pressed” it closed, which led to a change, according to the arrest report. Mom “then fought” with Subway Manager and urged help and finally open the door to free her daughter.

Another employee of the sandwich shop responded to mum’s cry for help, according to the arrest report. Later, he told police that he is alleged to have observed that Morris would pull the girl and “heard the uprising” that followed. He also called Morris’s behavior “strange” according to the report.
The police believe the girl was totally in the room for “up to two minutes”, according to Law & Crime.
Subway did not immediately respond to people’s request for comment on Saturday, July 26, nor Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
The girl told the police that when the boss alleged her to the room, “he seized her hand even tighter” and told her that her parents are “junk and terrible people”, according to Law & Crime. The child thought she was kidnapped and was “really scared,” reported the outlet.
The girl told the police that Morris did not make any sexual progress against her, according to law and crime. She also confirmed that she had never seen Morris before, Per Action News Jax.

Morris silenced during his July 21, and refused to comment, according to the arrest report.
He was charged with a count of false prison by a child under the age of 13 and was booked in prison, but later published Bond, according to Law & Crime and Action News Jax.
He is scheduled to show up in the court on August 13, the stores reported.
